close to Golden Gai and the bar district of Shinjuku
good service, good value for money Hotel Listel Shinjuku is located close to Golden Gai and the bar district of Shinjuku. It is only 15 minutes walking distance. The rooms are very good value for money, and are clean and not too small. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the area directly around the hotel is very ugly, partly with warehouse like buildings. However, after 3 minutes walk one is on a main street that is ok. Many convenience stores, bakeries etc are located in close proximity to the hotel.

- quiet neighborhood but still in the mix of Shinjuku - a bit far from the Shinjuku JR station
- the streets in the surrounding are a bit too quiet with concerns of crime and safety I overall find this a good hotel, I originally did not have much of an expectation when I first saw the photos online and before I physically entered the hotel. The hotel was very clean and a 10 minute walk from the Shinjuku-gyommae station. Nothing really. No english channels on the free TV was the worst thing and that was to be expected. My girl and I used the hotel to stay in Tokyo over Christmas. We checked in on the 23rd of December and checked out on the 27th. The check in was extremely easy and we were in the room in less than five minutes. When we got into the room, I was pleased with the size. I expected something smaller. I am a 6 foot tall man and the bed was big enough for me and my girl to sleep extremely comfortable. The room was very clean and everything worked well. We didnt see much of the staff which is a plus for me and when we did see them they were extremely helpful and pleasant.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Shinjuku-gyommae station is only about a 10 minute walk away. From their you can get anywhere in Tokyo.
