I've stayed at three hotels in Tokyo and the other two are 5 stars hotels. I should have just stayed at Mercure Ginza!

The Mercure Hotel has clean rooms of a decent size (for Tokyo). What I really liked was the fact that the hotel allowed me to check-in early at 12PM instead of 2.

Location is great, in the heart of Ginza loads of metro lines near by. Room's are ok, pretty good for Japan standards (bigger than a match box) and staff very proficient in English.
Shopping Tip:
Take the train to Harinjuku for a mix of independent shops, less mainstream labels but also top end designer and low end punk clothes!

mercure is a good quality mid-range hotel chain that is everything i expected...clean room, respectable service, convenient location, etc. the room size is reasonable, probably larger than comparable priced hotels in the same location judging by some of the reviews i've read (the main reason i decided to stay here instead of other places on this trip). one complaint i had was with their wi-fi service...it was only available in the hotel lobby and it often required the staff to reset the router because of overloading issue with their equipment. the hotel manager told us that wi-fi would be available throughout the hotel (not just in the lobby) starting in mid-december so hopefully this is a non-issue in the future.

Good location and charming hotel

It is the first time for me to stay in Ginza area and found this hotel very convenient to access to most of the places.
The service is good and though the room is similar to most of Japanese hotel in size but the bath room is much better than others.

Excellent hotel of choice. location is right in Ginza, behind LV store in Matsuya Dept Store. I didn't take the Ginza Itchome MRT line located at B1 of hotel, as Ginza station is only less than 5 min walk away & it has multiple lines to access directly to Shibuya, Shinjuku, Sensoji Temple & Tokyo Tower. Hotel is also 20min walk to Tsukiji Fish Market which the staff gave clear directions to walk there.
Room is very spacious for Tokyo standard & i was upgraded to the Ladies room (pleasant surprise) which has facial steamer & L'occitane products. LAN access inroom was fast & only inconvenience is Wifi is only available at Hotel Lobby floor.
There's a Lawson convenience store opposite & McDonald below hotel. only thing is finding breakfast in the Ginza area can be tough as the eateries only open at 11am & food tends to be expensive too.
I will definitely stay here again for my next visit to Tokyo.
Restaurant Tip:
a lot of small eateries around hotel & they open late, so no problem getting supper. tough to find breakfast as the eateries open at 11am. instead can try Matsuya dept store food kiosks at B1 as they open 10am & pack back to eat at hotel which is so near.
