This hotel has provided me with consistently excellent value on many occasions. I will continue to stay at the U-City Hotel.
Access to/from JR Narita station
Access to Narita's street markets
Nice rooms
Helpful staff
Very reasonable price
Carpet could use replacement
- Restaurant Tip : The Marond bakery (panya) is very close by (near station) and has the most incredible pastries!
The hotel was what we expected, a low budget place

I would likely stay here again for one or two nights at the most. The advantage of the U City is its location to the train station. Rooms are OK but ours was not all that clean. It has all the basics, but note that its is really a hotel for traveling Japanese business folks so everything is in Japanese, including the TV (not non japanese stations). Staff was friendly and could speak some english. Hotel allowed smoking so you need to ask for a non-smoking room. Bathrooms were small but functional. We had no problems with check in. Note that you may not be able to get a room before 3 PM. So don't expect to arrive early and get a room. We stayed there to break up a long flight. There is a free schuttle from Narita Airport to U City which is nice. In summary, a two star hotel that can be a budget choice for one or two nights.
Location near train station in Narita. Can use train to get to airport, toyko or some great museums in Narita. Hotel was quiet.
Eating is limited around hotel, the hotel restraunt is fine but limited. Rooms were marginal and carpets were dirty. So not for the faint hearted.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Seeing the National Museum of Japanese History. You can take a local train from the Narita train station which is just a few blocks from hotel to Sakura station. Then take a cab, short ride to museum. Try to spend a good day there its well worth it.
