Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

walking distance from JR Osaki station
great location, english-speaking staff, clean rooms
8.7
I would recommend this hotel for business travelers who want to stay close to Tokyo's business districts. It's a two-minute ride to Shinagawa Station where you can take the Shinkansen to any point of Japan. Also, there's a bunch of restaurants adjacent the hotel, the New Ohsaki City, along with a supermarket.

great location but thats all
3.3
this will be the last time i stay at the new ( actually very old ) otani hotel. room was run down, buttons broken, and they insist on a ridiculous 1,050 yen for internet. most hotels ( albeit outside tokyo ) offer the internet free of charge ( or actually built into the room charge ).
the wireless they have in the lobby is free if you are residing in japan and have a mobile phone with email address. otherwise you have wireless for only 10 mins but no problem, wait 3 hours and you get another 10 mins......
i can get a wireless lan card from the airport for much less........
not worth the money paid in my opinion. i will stay else where next time.

Osaki location is better than Shinagawa
Off the major beaten track but close to Shinagawa
4.7
Have been staying in Shinagawa forever, tired of the massive hordes of noisy, congested tourists staying at all the major Shinagawa hotels. decided to try the New (really? ) Otani Inn. The hotel is old, needs some renos in my opinion. staff were friendly and helpful.
internet is 1050 JPY ( heavy sigh ) per day, they do offer internet on an 10min / 40 JPY charge though unlike the other hotels in Shinagawa. I really wish they just bundle the price in with the room rate, I get the feeling that its just another nickel and dime initiative and drives me crazy considering how many other hotels just offer the service FOC.
Wireless is free in the lobby for only 10 mins every 3 hours.....crazy. You can use it for longer than 10mins if you have an email account from a Japanese Carrier....not much help if you are an international business person in tokyo for the short term.
The Japanese hotels are archaic, so far behind the times, really makes me wonder why they dont catch up to the rest of the world hotels.......
My stay was OK. Nothing major to rave about. Small rooms, preset air con so hope you like their 26C setting. Nothing special.........
