Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.
We want you to pay the lowest possible rate for your room. If you have reserved a hotel room through Agoda, and then show us that you could book the same room, for the same dates, at a lower rate, that is viewable and bookable on another website, within 48 hours of booking your room with us, we will either match that rate or beat it. Close to city centre and shopping
room could be a little larger
The stay at Excel was great, just that the room was a little too small for what we paid, however from our floor it had an amazing view and the elevator was all glass also, so the view is great from there also.
Shopping Tip : Too many shops to mention

Good location, center of shopping area, excellent service and staff.
Mate forgot to wash used glasses for a day, but other things were great.
We like this hotel. Great location, easy to travel, subway station just across the road, many good food around. Hotel staff is very helpful and speak good English.

Prime location (if you love Shibuya), sizable (for Tokyo standard!) clean, well-maintained rooms
They could provide body lotion in the room which was much needed especially for the cold and dry winter period in Tokyo. Website listed prices were a tad steep unless you manage to get good deals via 3rd party agents such as Agoda.
This is my first time staying at Shibuya Excel and I think this is by far the best location compared to my previous stays at Shinjuku and Shiodome areas. The hotel is in the centre of all the buzz in Shibuya. It was so convenient to access the train station, food outlets and shopping. We didn't have to travel beyond Shibuya if we didn't want to. The triple room had 3 beds wide enough to sleep 1 adult and 1 child per bed rather comfortably, which was what we did. I would certainly stay in this hotel for future trips to Tokyo. I saved a great amount of money booking through Agoda compared to the prices listed on the hotel's official website. I particularly liked the 24 hour online chat customer service which I found helpful for late sleepers like myself.
Restaurant Tip : The Tokyu Food Show located below the hotel offered a huge variety of take away food that are good and affordable. The ice cream at the Food Show (located near the entrance/exit leading to Excel Hotel) are a must try! We went for our daily fix during our stay there. Strawberry with cookies was so yummy!

We we were eventually given a very large room on a women's no smoking floor with a great view!!! Loved the room. Note: It was not the first room they wanted to put us in but after explanation of what we were looking for, they gave us that room. Travelers should now about the women's floor! The room was great and the view fantastic.
All was great until we decided to wait for our bus to the airport in the lobby restuarant. A picture showed 3 crossiants and said that it came with a salad and tea. It was called a "crossiant basket." What we actually got was one crossiant and maybe 10 leaves for a "salad". When I pointed to picture and asked about the other crossiants, I was told there was only 1. It seemed like a bait and switch situation.

location, cleanliness, very helpful staff
A very strategic and perfect location right in the central of Shibuya. We got the perfect view overlooking the Shibuya crossing, so it was an experience. The staff were really friendly, they will spend 30 minutes to explain how to get here and there. They hotel was clean, tidy and well-kept. The room size are pretty big for 3 beds room. Highly recommended! PS: Oh, and the clear-glass lift!

location couldn't be better
front desk is too strict on check-in time
the shibuya excel tokyu hotel in tokyo is right in the centre of shibuya, the station is only underground it. in the midst of one of the busiest cross-section in the tokyo, or the world, there is action all over. this place never sleeps. the crowd is the young and hip.
harujuku is only within a short walk too.
Travel tip : harujuku is only within a short walking distance

location, location, location
stringent on their check-in/ check-out hour
I got to say the location of shibuya excel tokyu is excellent. Being right at the cross-junction of where all the action is this place is happening and exciting. Shopping, dining and entertainment options all abound and within reach.
I will certainly want to check back in again. The only problem is the hotel is too stringent on their check-in/ check-out hour.

Had a great stay at the Shibuya Excel. Right in the centre of everything's that happening. 2min walking distance from the famous 109 shopping centre and shopping district. The hotel staff were nice and friendly however the double bed in our room was very small and just fit two adults. Would stay there again. Shibuya Excel is a greatly located.
Nightlife Tip : All the young ones will love shopping here!

The location and the views from the lift and the rooms.
This is a good hotel for holiday makers but not so good for the business traveller. The location is excellent, the rooms are good (although a little dated) and the staff friendly. They are a little lacking in IT facilities for the business traveller.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Get the bus to the hotel from the airport as it stops at the door.

The location was the best, it's right next to the train station.
The staffs are very professional, but they need to be more friendly.
It is a very nice hotel. The location is the best, it's right next to the train station. The house keeping servics are very good, if they notice that you are sleeping in till past 11:30am, they will leave you a voice mail, and offer if you need your room to clean, you just have to let them know by 03:00pm. There was once that I left the room around 10:35am, and I left the 'make-up room' side out, then went back up to the room by 11:10am, my room was already nice and clean.
I will 100% sure to stay in the SHIBUYA EXCEL HOTEL again!

View of Shibuya crossing, very bi-lingual staff (English & Japanese), easy access to transportation & shopping, luggage check, clean
Small rooms (if you're American)
My family (6 adults) really enjoyed our stay here on Nov 1-Nov 4, and again on Nov 7-Nov 8, 2009. It is easily accessible from Narita airport via Airport Limousine Bus (they have their own bus stop) as well as by Japan Rail. In fact, the hotel is on top of the subway & the Yamamote JR line, which allowed us to go EVERYWHERE without ever touching a taxi. The staff was courteous and friendly, and allowed us to hold luggage since we arrived too early for check-in, and also held luggage for us for several hours prior to our flight home.
We stayed on the 16th & 18th floors, both which had excellent views to our right of Shibuya crossing (the one with all the lights from any movie about modern Japan), but best views of the crossing come from the elevators and lobby. The rooms are small by American standards, and beds are smaller than Queen sized, but still fit two comfortably enough, and the bathrooms came equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, as well as toothbrushes, combs, razors, etc. There was also an empty mini-fridge available for storing snacks as well as hot water for tea/coffee. Beware of the tv remote, because it can be easy to hit the PPV buttons by accident. Fortunately, you won't get charged unless you agree to accept the charges. Which reminds me, the hotel has pay-per-use computers for internet in the lobby, but if you bring your own laptop, internet is free within the room (they have a cable available for use).
Helpful hint - prices were definitely a better value when we booked for more than night.
All-in-all, fantastic hotel for location & convenience!
Hotel Feature Tip : The subway below the hotel contains Tokyu Foodshow, which is an upscale grocery store to stock up on fruits and other tasty edibles, and the hotel is connected to multiple delicious looking restaurants. (Didn't get a chance to try this, but look for a sushi restaurant past the Cold Stone Creamery or Starbucks that consistently had long lines-it is well recommended in the area)

Very close to shopping area, same building with the metro station. Easy access (Limonsine Bus) to/from the airport. Free internet access. Good service with polite staff.
No breakfast serve in the Hotel
The hotel is very good for business and sightseeing traveler which beside the JR railway line and the metro just the lower level of the metro lines. Shibuya have night life and good shopping places which just need to cause the road. I feel comfort for the room size of the premier double room which have very good room size of 30 Square meter. Clean and tidy room and provide vending machine, shopping mall and Supermarket in the basement level.
Restaurant Tip : Will prefer to have breakfast serve in case the busniess travelers may need this service

-Location 1. Very convenient both for nightlife and shopping.
-Location 2. Located 100m from NEX Airport Express stop.
-Good room size.
-Well equipped rooms.
-The entrances can be a bit tricky to locate.
Pretty good choice as Japanese hotels go, considering the price level vs. the location. We were three people staying in a triple, and we got a pretty decent size room (and a no smoking one to boot)on on the 21st floor with all the usual facilities one expects in a Western style hotel in Tokyo. The room was clean and well kept, and the view of the urban landscape pretty cool.
The location is superb, adjacent to the Shibuya Crossing. We were off to the Narita Airport the next morning, and chose this Hotel due to it's proximity to the JR Shibuya Station, as it is a stop for the NEX Narita Express train. Hauling around large suitcases on the Tokyo Subway (or taking a taxi) during the morning rush hour is sheer torture, guaranteed to give you an ulcer.
All in all, a good choice.
