firstly, like to remind that distance from shinjuku is not 5-10 mins walk! if you are travelling with luggages, tendency is we all walk slowly to enjoy...so 20min walk is more realistic! walking in hot summer and cold winter is unbearable for some that cannot take the extreme cold or hot!
the park across the hotel is not the typical japanese gardens. they are occupied by the homeless..so do not walk across in the evenings...due to safety issues!
there is a shuttle service from shinjuku south exit at Basement level to and fro hotel. they have changed their timings (11 dec 2012). the service is available from am 830 - 9+pm (pls check with hotel)
room is pretty standard - small like most hotel in the same range. but it is clean and tidy!
laundry, vending machines for cigarettes, drinks, movie pass for adult movies.
some mentioned about a chinese restaurant next to the hotel as very good...my personal opinion (i am a chinese living in singapore)..in my standard, it is only ok, not the most authentic! remember to tell them to use less oil.

Good for the price and can't complain. Perhaps a point for consideration: extend Wifi to rooms (although better than other hotels in the trip without wifi in the hotel). Satisfied with receptionists and front desk with dedication and English capabilities. The hotel also provided flexibility whilst we could leave luggages in two days without additional cost! Happy to come back!

I booked a nonsmoking room as I was traveling with my young child, but we could smell smoke from our room, like someone has just smoked in there. Perhaps the air filtration system is not that good.. Even when we entered the lobby, we could smell the smoke. The bathroom was very clean, with toiletries provided.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take a train from shinjuku station to ikebukuro, which is just 4 stops away. There is an entire complex called sunshine city where you can spend the entire day with kids. There is an aquarium, planetarium, lots of food, shopping, an observatory deck on the 60th floor, and an amusement centre with fun and quirky themes.

this is a great location where there is very near to the train station, also with shuttle bus services to the train station, that was so convenient. but the room only enough to fit one couple, i brought my little son, end up he slept on the floor. and the bed is so.... small which is just slightly bigger than a single bed. but overall it's ok for me. i will choose this hotel again if there is a chance to go tokyo again.

整體上很滿意，缺點是離車站有段距離，房間沒有無線網路

我停留五個晚上，覺得該飯店整體不錯，整潔房間空間也很滿意
但是飯店位置離車站有段距離
雖然該飯店有接駁車可以接送，但是時間上的安排卻不是那樣如意
舉例來說，晚上九點多就沒有接駁車
但是我們通常都是10點11點才回飯店
所以都無法搭乘都要走回去
還有一個比較需要重視的是
我們最後一天晚上六點的飛機
三點就要離開飯店去搭乘
但是這段時間內並沒有接駁車，接駁車是中午休到下午4點
以致於我們當天必須搭乘taxi才能運送我們的行李到車站坐機場bus
我想這是非常不貼心的服務，因為他沒有顧慮到中午到4點，顧客會有搭乘的需要
再來是比較不重要的，就是建議房間內可以有無線網路
