convenient location, with good house keeping staff.

Shinjuku prince hotel was a pleasant stay for me. The furnishing looked and felt new, and it was a very comfortable stay. The breakfast area served many kinds of food which is adequate. The location is convenient as it is within walking distance to shinjuku station, and there is a lot of restaurants, arcades, convenience stalls and macs in the area.

The hotel had access of the station through basement 2, its clean

too far from the airport limo bus ticket office, the rooms are too small, no cabinet, only 1 channel we can watch- CNN.

We stayed at Shinjuku Prince Hotel for 7 nights. We were surprised how far it was from the pick up point of the airport limo bus. The rooms were too small and it had no cabinet. The good thing is they replenish the toiletries everyday. It had vending machines per floor.

Shinjuku Prince Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Shinjuku. Shinjuku Railways Station and its subways are just around the corner and it makes travelling a breeze. The room at Shinjuku Prince are tastefully renovated. In fact the room which we stayed could be considered brand new. Though it was a semi twin bed accomodation, the room space is quite manageable. The room is definetly comfortable and it has all the amenities that you need. The room window enable us to see a lovely view of Shinjuku and the rail track lines. The receptionist was very courteous and helpful during the check in. Staff were friendly and helpful to any enquiry.

As Shinjuku Prince Hotel is located near the rail tracks, occasionally you will hear the trains passing by. If you are not particular about sounds, you can live with it. It is not exceptionally disturbing. There is no boiling kettle in the room and this posed some inconveniences if you are thinking of making yourself a cup of tea or coffee. The room can be small if one is expecting for more space. But this is compensated by its beautiful layout in the room.

My daughter and I checked into Shinjuku Prince Hotel on 7-9 May 09. The reason for choosing Shinjuku Prince was because the proevious guest house that we stayed at Hatagaya was cramped and uncomfortable. We choose Shinjuku Prince also partly because it was recommended by our friend who had stayed at the hotel. Upon check in the receptionist was very courteous and helpful. The procedure was swift and we got our room within seconds. As we stepped into the room, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful layout and design. Though it was rather small in term of size (semi Twin Room), it was compensated by its beautiful layout and design. The room is certainly very comfortable and we enjoyed it. It has all the amenities you needed in a hotel setting except a boiler where you could make yourself a cup of tea or coffee. Other than this we absolutely have no complaint of the room. As Shinjuku Prince is located in the heart of Shinjuku and the railways and subway station, it makes travelling around Shinjuku and beyond a breeze. We enjoyed the shopping and dinning around Shinjuku and there are certainly plenty of restaurants and shopping that one could keep him or herself occupied. Overall we certainly had a lovely and beautiful stay at Shinjuku and enjoyed our holidays in Japan. It is absolutely memorable!

Restaurant Tip : There are plenty of choices when it comes to food. There are western food and Japanese food. The ramen restaurants around Shinjuku are good and tasty. Prices are reasonable.

Excellent location Clean Quick check-in / check-out

Lobby seems very old-fashioned and dark No English language maps at street level entrance Not enough international TV programs

As a first-time Japan visitor who doesn't speak a word of Japanese, I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel staff greeting me in perfect English. Check-in procedures were much more efficient and quick compared with other hotels around Asia. (I was in my room in less than 5 minutes - now that's what I call excellent service!) The lobby environment seemed a little dark and old-fashioned, but it did have complimentary computers with inexpensive pay-as-you-go Internet access. The room I had was tiny (as in many big cities these days), but it had absolutely everything I needed. The bathroom was microscopic (as expected), but it was impeccably clean and functional (and all features were working perfectly!). The bathroom was equipped with a high-tech toilet offering various different bidet and flushing modes. (Like the child that I am, I was delighted and 'played' with it for a while!) In an effort to protect the environment, the hotel offers guests a 500 Yen discount voucher for each days they decline the daily cleaning service. This is a nice touch and I made use of it, even though I knew I wouldn't stay long enough to make use of the voucher. I had an 'open view' over the city, which was quite pleasant. The flashing neon lights can be blocked out with the shades, but I decided to invite the city lights into my room - I liked it. The immediate surroundings of the hotel get top marks from me. Right above the entrance to the Shinjuku Seibu underground station, with cafes, convenience stores, restaurants and bars all right on the doorstep. There's a fantastic shopping area about 1 minute walk away, with lots of the usual outlets for fashion and cosmetics. Also, right opposite the hotel, is the notorious red light district. But fear not, the tiny roads are very inviting with their colorful lights, modern music, and hordes of young, trendy people in search for food & drink or entertainment. There are lots of little sushi bars, gambling halls, massage parlors.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : When you arrive at the airport, go to the 'Narita Express' ticket counter and get a ticket to Shinjuku (cost about 3150 Yen). The ticket states 'car number' and 'seat number'. To avoid people scrambling through a moving train, the platforms have clear labels indicating where each car will stop. The train has plenty of space for luggage (also overhead compartments) - there's no need to worry about luggage 'going missing', Tokyo is probably the safest and most civilized place on earth! In precisely 1 hour and 27 minutes, the train takes you through rural areas all the way into the heart of Tokyo and to Shinjuku. Get off at Shinjuku station. From there, you can walk through the network of tunnels all the way to the Shinjuku Seibu exit (part of another line). If the underground maze scares you, take the East Exit and walk at street level to the Prince Hotel. It's only a 5 minute walk, if you take the shortest route. (Somebody surely will point you in the right direction, but it helps to have a map at hand.) Tokyo has a vast and highly sophisticated network of trains. For anyone other than hard-core city people, Shinjuku (in the Guinness book for its +200 exits!) can be a daunting sight. I advise newcomers to buy a map, familiarize themselves with the Japanese coins, check exactly where they want to go, and carefully read signs (!!!). The great thing in Tokyo is: You can really trust the signs 100%! All instructions are precise, correct and logical. So, if you do your homework and pay attention you can't get lost. And don't worry: If you do get lost, you can always ask the service staff at an information booth. I always found somebody who spoke English and people are extremely polite and go out of their way to help you. I found that getting around was much easier than I thought!

Great location, comfortable rooms

A bit pricey

Whenever I go to Tokyo, this is my favorite hotel to stay in. It's close to Shinjuku station (not even a 10 minute walk), the rooms are always nice, the water pressure in the shower is good and the beds are comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location - near train station, restaurants, and shops. Friendly staff.

Even though the room was cleaned everyday by housekeeping, the room was still a bit dusty as the window couldn't be opened. Buffet lunch was average - the only good thing was that it offered unlimited crab legs. However the rest of the food was average.

The hotel is very conveniently located, with many restaurants to try nearby. Tokyo nightlife is on your doorstep, as the streets of Shinjuku are always busy and bustling. The hotel is about 10min walk to the main Shinjuku train station, and is also close to several department stores. Free wireless internet in the hotel reception area. Staff were very friendly and willing to assist with our general inquiries about Tokyo. Will stay here again next time we visit Tokyo.

The location of the hotel is good. It is easy to get to other locations and there are lots of places to eat and shop.

The internet service is not good. The connection is very slow and it is expensive. There is no coffee provided, only green tea. There is also no English channel, not good compared to Hong Kong hotels.

The Hotel is not too bad and the service of staff is as expected. The location is the best though TV channels are limited. As an international hotel, visitors do not always speak Japanese and they would like to know what is happening. So compared to hotels in Hong Kong, this is not as good.

Easy access from Shinjuku railway station.\nExcellent modern hotel facilities. Good quality room, elevators, well insulated (no noise).\nVery helpful staff.\nExcellent breakfast buffet.\nIn the heart of the lively Shinjuku district.

Room size was small by western standards, but was adequate for a brief stay of a few days.

We arrived at 8pm on a rainy night after a long and tiring journey from the USA. It was wonderful to leave our bags with the Bell Captain just near the hotel entrance and after checking in with the courteous and helpul front desk have the bags delivered promptly to our room. We then made a brief walk around Shinjuku and got something to eat, before thankfully climbing in to the comfortable bed for a deep sleep. Over the next two and a half days of sightseeing in Tokyo we really came to appreciate the easy access to the railway and subway from the hotel and also its proximity to the very lively nightlife which Shinjuku is famous for. We then went to Kyoto for a business meeting but needed an extra night reservation for our final night in Tokyo on our way back. The staff were very helpful in arranging this extra reservation at the Prince hotel and we were very satisfied to return there for our final night in Japan. Well done to all concerned!

Restaurant Tip : There is a very narrow street alongside the railway track about 100 m from the hotel which is full of small Japanese cafe-bars where one can get a drink and a meal with a very Japanese atmosphere. The price of the food and drink is very economical and for non-Japanese speakers it is easy to order the food and drink using the photos in the menu.

Room was great - obviously newly renovated, flat screen tv, wonderful decoration, very modern.

Room was quite small, but that is normal for Japanese hotel rooms.

I really recommend this hotel - staff was very helpful, and the facilities were wonderful. I'd love to stay again.

Very well situated for entertainment, restaurants and access to airport by limousine bus.

Bedrooms a bit small, but a lot in a small space.

The Shinjuku Prince Hotel is situated an easy 10 minute walk from the limousine bus stop at Shinjuku Station, to go to the airport (3,000 yen). It's also well placed for every kind of restaurant you can imagine and lots of bars and clubs. It's a very lively, well lit place at night and safe to walk around if you avoid the dark alleys. Facilities in the hotel are good, including restaurants. The bedroom is compact, but sufficient. They provided a hammer in the room for breaking the window in the event of fire. I was on the 20th floor! Some option! Next time I am in Japan I will have one night in Shinjuku again and probably stay in the same hotel. t's a nice way to end an exhausting business trip before returning home. I think they call it R&R!

Shopping Tip : Turn left out of the hotel, walk 100 metres to a convenience store on the right. Easy to stock up the mini-bar in your room. The mini bar is not provided with contents.
