I loved my stay at Smile Hotel Asagaya. It was extremely easy to find from the Asagaya JR Line exit (the South exit, incidentally; take a hard right immediately outside to go down a narrow street and you'll see a big banner pointing you in the right direction within a minute of walking) and Asagaya itself is full of good eateries that are open throughout the day. It was a quiet place and I couldn't hear the trains at all from my second floor room. Vending machine was cheaper in the hotel than outside as well! Was really pleased to find the bathroom was clean with towels, shower gel, toothbrush and so on, and the room was equipped with a hairdryer and refrigerator. Plus bloody good Internet access for free, too! Extremely good value for money. I'll stay here again on my next visit to Japan for sure. I loved how it was easy to get to Shinjuku and Tokyo Station due to the rapid lines. And when the rapid lines were being annoying, the local line never fails!

I enjoyed my 5 nights stay at this hotel very much. The room was clean and comfortable and equipped with the necessary basic amenities. It was also very convenient as the Asagaya station is just less than 5 minutes walk away. There were lots of local restaurants for food, cafe that serves good quality breakfast and convenient stores available within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I would book here again for my next Tokyo trip.

The hotel is very closed to JR Station, so very convenient to commute anywhere. Around the hotel you can also find many shops and restaurants. Staff are friendly and happy to help. There was some internet connection issue during our stay but it was ok overall.

Smile hotel is a budget hotel with wifi available. Take note their internet access blocked most of the websites such as torrents, streaming websites and etc.
Smile hotel is right NEXT to JR station Asagaya. Be sure when you want to book your room, make sure you request that your room is facing the opposite way of the train station or it will be really noisy.
Otherwise, since it is a budget hotel i would say it is pretty decent. Up-kept and Hygienic. Don't expect too much.
