Overall the Vintage Shinjuku hotel represents good value for money. For the most part all you need when visiting Tokyo is somewhere to rest and your days are spent out exploring the city.
It's location is very central and it's significantly cheaper than the other hotel which are nearby. Some of the streets surrounding the hotel are populated with hostess and host clubs etc - some might call it a red light district - so perhaps it's no so suitable for families, but for adult travelers this is not a problem and on some levels is rather entertaining.
The hotel rooms are small (even by Japanese standards) with a 'unit style' bathroom, but everything is clean and in full working order. The hotel was not noisy in anyway so you can sleep well here.
The reception staff spoke English well and where happy to help with my questions.
Buffet style breakfast was the fairly standard fare - with both western style (scrambled eggs/sausage) and Japanese style (Miso soup/ rice / fish) on offer.
A good central location at low cost.
Small rooms (even for Japan). No free internet access.

I asked to be changed into a bigger room and was willing to pay the additional charges, but the staff said, all rooms were the same size, even for two person occupancy.
Great hotel!

Staff was really great! We had to go because we were late for a baseball game and the staff checked me in really fast and even took my luggage up to my room for me. Highly recommended.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Great night life too check out and plenty of food places around this area.

Good for a comfortable place to stay, not a party person type place though.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The host and hostess bars and variety of interesting people milling about are quite a sight.
