Awful location, not really in Luang Prabang, but 10 km down the Mekong, on the other side of the river. No (practical) land access to L.P., no real way to/from the resort to L.P. and area attractions, except the hotel's one boat, and an occasional entrepreneurial private boat
owner. Hotel boat goes from resort to Luang Prabang at 8 am and 6 pm each day, and from Luang Prabang to the resort at 4 pm and 10 pm each day. Any trips "off-schedule" are $5 US (per person). Hotel took the wrong people from Luang Prabang to hotel when we arrived from airport, leaving us waiting at the pier. They didn't
think to come back for us, despite us never checking in. After waiting in the mid-day Laos sun, we walked into town, bought SIM cards, called the hotel, walked back to the pier, and waited another 30 minutes for the boat. What should have taken 30 minutes, airport
to resort, took 2 1/2 hours. Good thing my wife speaks Laos and I speak Thai, or finding SIM cards for our phones wouldn't have been "so easy." Next day we waited for the 4 pm boat back to the hotel, again in the
Laos sun. We called every 10 minutes to hear that the boat would be another 5 minutes, eventually a private boat operator arrived at 4.46 pm. The hotel's only boat had engine problems. That was enough for us -- we left the resort two days early, frustrated with the location and the issues with the hotel's boat, but Agoda graciously refunded our hotel payments because of the troubles we'd encountered. The Chantavinh staff was apologetic about the transport problems and eager to serve us, and the resort is truly beautiful, but given their
location, they should have a number of boats, and free, routine transport between the resort & Luang Prabang. They couldn't meet our transport needs, and we were two of only four customers at the resort. Imagine if the resort were booked full!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : See the waterfalls, see some wats, see the 6 am alms offering, enjoy the Laos coffee and wine and great food.

The surrounding countryside
Rooms are very old and abgewohnt.Die beds were an affront, the bed frame about 15 cm wider than the mattress, so everybody lie down or stand up did you hurt. My mattress was made of 15 cm thick foam, with 2-3cm wadding or something like it. Brett.Die hard as a cleanliness in the room also had to be desired. So as a bad breakfast in this hotel was still no where, not yet in simpler times tour hotels, it has only toast of the cheapest variety, where, of course ungetoastet because every morning blackout gab.Normales bread, rolls or similar would be nice gewesen.Als Nescafe coffee, there were 3 in 1, and hot water from a thermos flask.
Restaurant Tip : In Boncafe there are delicious cakes and coffee's next to the Wat May

A pleasant garden, beautiful view of the Mekong.
Breakfast: orange juice chemical, coffee granules (billed $ 2 cup an hour after breakfast, and served as a real coffee), not even bread, leftover tomato mayonnaise served two days earlier at a tablée tourists. Service at a time and no unaffordable. In the room (large), no chairs, only one bedside table, for all storage, a tiny rickety armoire, plus shower flooded the bathroom.
It is not in Luang Prabang, but several miles away and across the river. No shuttle car and a boat to cross only at fixed times (three times a day, when it is on the right side of the river). All transports are charged at prices demented. At least when they are made: at the airport, waiting 20 minutes to take charge and confirmed by email, on phone at the hotel: "The car is in motion." New expectations, new phone and this time the answer is "the car is broken, take a tuk-tuk." This is not a spa, despite the name, at least to consider the Mekong as a pool: it there is absolutely no infrastructure for the bath and relax. In short, this is not a hotel. View shared by all the tourists that we have sailed with, we do not understand how Agodi could put such a scam on its listings.
