sweet staff, breakfast is good, comfortable bed, transportation to town too far from town to walk, room too small, only view is into the windows of another thai house, no complimentary water for drinking the staff at the jade hotel was very sweet, but quite unused to westerners as it is a relatively new hotel, and there were never any other guests but myself for the 4 nights that i was there. there was adequate transportation to town, but it would have been more convenient to be closer where i could walk around in the town. the room was very small, but adequate, although there was no view except into the windows of a thai house, therefore it was somewhat noisy. i was a bit lonely there as i was the only guest, therefore it was much more pleasant after i moved into a guesthouse in town.

staff are friendly, premesis are clean rooms are cosy and hotel is quite spacious one staff memeber wanted to improve his English and didnt leave us alone...although it was ok in the beginning it was getting a bit tedious...but they were all generally very nice great service a tuk tuk picked us up from airport and transferred us back when we were leaving. Even though not all staff spoke Englsih they were quite helpful (although no one knew much about tours in the area...werent very helpful in this area at all)
breakfast was nice location was good...a good 15 minute walk to main street in LP where alot of the attractions are and the night markets..would definately stay there again..athough the tilet blocked up on our first day..but they allowed us to use another room while being fixed..no restaurant on premesis..just provided plate of breakfast
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : 15 minutes walk to main st of Lunag Prabang...night markets and food stalls are great !!!

The staff were very nice and helpful, comfortable beds, hotel opened last year (so everything is in new/good condition). room was a little small (easily fit beds and furnishings, but not enough space to open luggage and still move around) I stayed at the Jade Hotel for four nights in July 2009 and really enjoyed my time there. The hotel is small, beautifully furnished, comfortable beds, and the staff is very friendly (and eager to practice their English). The included breakfast was good (eggs, fruit, bread, juice, tea, coffee), but it was the same everyday. (And with so much good food and bread in Luang Prabang, I found myself wishing that breakfast was not included). The hotel is not on the main street in the town center or on the river front, but they provide free transportation to town from 8 am to 10 pm (or you can walk - which only takes about 12 - 15 minutes). It was nice to be away from the center of town - and many other tourists - but that did not necessarily mean it was totally quiet (there is a local bar right next door and at times the music was loud enough to be heard from our room).
If you have the time, interest, and money, I highly recommend taking a weaving class at Ock Pop Tok Living Crafts Centre.
