One of the few hotels with a pool in LP. Beautiful and great location.

The breakfast needs improvement and the hotel transfer is way too expensive. Need to be careful with mosquitoes.

We stayed at the maison for the last two days of our stay in LP. It was a scale up from our previous place but we missed the friendly service of the Lotus and the "contact" with the local culture. The breakfast was a big disappointment. LP has great bread and pastries that the hotel can purchase anywhere. Instead they serve stale bread and small "crispy" pancakes. The orange juices was clearly "adulterated" with some sort of powder. But the hotel is beautiful and rooms are stylish and comfortable.

Travel tip : You can hire "limousine" a service (minivan)at the airport for $3 dollars per person, compare to $12 pp charged by the hotel. Getting transportation at the airport is very easy and safe.

No English Hard Mattress Unheated Pool Unprotected Property Less than Asia Usual Breakfast

This reminded me of an off season motel at peak season/special event prices Luang Prabang is a small very overpriced packbacker town, meant for a one or two night stay March is the month when Laos burns its forest for planting and smoke fills every nook and cranny of the motel of the town

Hotel Feature Tip : Drink as much Mulberry Tea as you can...seems to lessen the effect of the March Smoke

- nice hotel, pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff - close to the centre and the river

- considering the price and Lao conditions, you expect more especially choice of breakfast

The Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel is a nice hotel with a pleasant atmosphere and a friendly helpful staff. The location is excellent just outside the centre. However, considering the price level in Lao you expect considerably more for the relative high hotel price.
