Nice room but far from city center

We read a lot of the reviews saying it was close to the city center, but it was about a 20 minute walk to the night market. The room was very comfortable, but the two guys working during the daytime were off-putting.
FIrst they were disinterested in getting us into our room and once we were settled, they unlocked our door and tried to come in without invitation to ask us if we could switch rooms. We declined and voiced our displeasure with their intrusion. They left us alone for the rest of our stay.
Despite that and no working wifi we enjoyed our stay in Luang Prabang. Noi the cleaning lady was very nice. There are also a lot of local gems nearby that most tourists don't get to.
Restaurant Tip:
Donsavanth(?) was the best restaurant we ate in Laos. Nothing but locals and the waiters do not speak English, but the menu is translated.
Utopia is another great place for drinks and hanging out while looking out over the Namkong River.

Little guesthouse without charm, nothing special

I was happy I stayed only one night in the guesthouse. Its nothing special and for the money you get much better choices in Luang Prabang. Also the staff is not very well organized. When I came they did not have or find my booking, even if I had the confirmation, it tooks them over 20 min to decide if they can give me a room. Also I needed a bus ticket and they had on the boad a lower price and they wanted more, than was quoted. So I did not book my bus ticket and got it cheaper elsewhere. And for breakfast the cook was missing. Had to wait 45 min until the cook was there and I could get anything. Nevertheless, the breakfast place outside is quite OK. Rooms are standard, as I said I was happy staying only one night.
Restaurant Tip:
In 5 minutes walking distance you find Utopia, a chilled place to hang out during the day with a bamboo/ wood terrace over the river.
