Excellent value for money in a great location. Room was clean and compact. Ask for a first floor room overlooking the temple in order to watch giving of rice to monks in the early morning. Use the hotel safety deposit and be careful about leaving valuable items in your room as we had a problem - which was rectified.

Spent 3 nights at the Sene Souk - fabulous location across the road from a temple - as long as you don't mind being woken up very early. Room was clean and compact but excellent value considering the price.

Had a problem with a missing camera which when we spoke to reception and asked to file a police report it suddenly reappeared packed in a suitcase that had been emptied. Found this rather disturbing.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a tuk tuk to Kwang Xi Waterfalls - beautiful, but don't stop at the Hmong Village as its very commercial.

It was a great hotel and I would definately stay there again when in Luang Prabang. We gave the hotel folks our voucher from Agoda and checked in without a problem. It is centrally located and only a couple of blocks from the night market.

The room was great. The Air Con worked great. The hotel is located right across from a really cool Wat. We were able to see the Monks walk down the street every morning.

Sensouk guesthouse is in the quieter end of the street so relaxing to come back to. It's just opposite the biggest temple so a great view of the monks coming out each morning to beg for their daily rice. quite a sight to see about 250 saffron robed men and boys filing past. Easy walking distance to cafes and there are some great ones on the river plus the street the guesthouse is in.

Location, price, friendly staff, coffee and tea available in the lobby (very few cheaper priced hotels in Asia have tea and coffee making facilities in rooms).

Rooms on the ground floor are close to street so shutters have to be used for privacy making rooms dark.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A number of tour operators around and all pretty competitive. Longer trips are better done in a car or mini van - tuk tuks have limited visibility and comfort. Seats face in to the middle so by the end of a longish trip you have a crick in your neck from turning sideways to catch the views. Roads are poor so you get bounced around and dusty as well.

Excellent gem. The new guesthouse is amazing! Guest Rating: 4.7

I was worried because the hotel isn't listed in any guidebooks (Lonely planet etc.) But most other Laung Prabang hotels were booked when we wanted to go so I took a chance on the Sensouk New guesthouse and booked a deluxe room in the new guesthouse for $40/night. It was perfect. A/C. Beautifully decorated. Night watchman. Free coffee all hours of the day. Walking location to everything. Beautiful view of mountains from our room. Right across from the 3 temples where the monks go by in the morning. (All the other tourists have to get up at 5 am and walk to in front the Sensouk Guesthouse to see the monks. You just have to roll out of bed.)

location. beautiful Lao room. staff.

Everything was great.

The hotel has a very nice architecture, with balconies to the main street (where all the good restaurants, tour agencies, cyber cafes, laundry places are, just a few steps), with a view to a very nice Buddhist temple where you can sit and relax. The bathroom is not that big, but do the function very well, the A/C worked very well (very hot place). The staff is very helpful, they borrowed us some umbrellas (free of charge, something a little hard to find in Southeast Asia). It's not the cheapest one, but if you are going in a trip with a girl/wife or family, it's perfect. Totally recommend it.

Very well located, very clean and staff is very nice.

No breakfast.

  • Restaurant Tip : It's the street of the good restaurants! Just walk through it and you will find a lot.

The colonial building is stunning and the rooms are very clean, nicely decorated and furnished, modern and the location is very beautiful and quiet and right across from a significant temple. The staff are very helpful and friendly and our stay was really enjoyable. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Luang Prabang!

Clean, lovely rooms. Location is perfect. Staff.

Nothing.
