Best hotel in Luang Prabang

My brother and I stayed at the BelleRive for three nights and couldn't have had a better stay. The rooms were very well appointed with locally-inspired decorations and the staff was friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and location too, right along the river and a 5 minute walk to the main street.

They have free bikes to use for seeing the town!

Me and friend stayed in BelleRive hotel for our first time visited LuangPrabang. I like this hotel very much. Very beautiful building,Nice room. Lovely staff. They are very helpful
Restaurant Tip:
If u are looking for real local food ( papaya salad) som tum. I prefer this "Som Tum Pa Tim" the shop opposit Wat Nong Temple very close to the hotel.ask the hotel reception if u can't find it. This is the best som tum in Luang Prabang.

The concierge was very friendly, though their English wasn't perfect (though no worse than any other hotel during our month-long trip). They promptly removed a very large spider from our room in late at night. They were very accommodating when we needed a late check out and the staff even waved us goodbye as we drove off for the airport.
Pretty room, not huge. It was right on the street with a little porch which was great. We could be in/out all day as we explored the city so i didn't need to bring a giant backpack with me everywhere we went. fantastic shower.
Restaurant Tip:
Belle Rive's restaurant is good for lunch and dinner, too! Though you will pay more there than many other spots around town.

Beautiful romantic hotel, quiet location, friendly

We loved our time at the BelleRive. Sure it is more expensive than most other places but was so worth it for a romantic getaway. We had one of the loft rooms in the main building, which was a beautiful design, the huge bed upstairs with the bathroom, closet, safe, chairs and minibar below. The building itself is french colonial but well restored, with modern twists to the rooms. The balcony was really nice to sit out on for a drink and relax, and we had drinks delivered to our room from the bar to our balcony.
We got free cold water daily (2 small 1 big bottle but could ask for more) and free cookies, which made my partner feel at home. The shower has a see through glass door so may be awkward if not travelling with someone you are romantically involved with. It is a great shower though the best of our trip.
We got free bikes from the hotel, and a map, which reception took us through showing us main attractions. There were also books in our room, including a 2011 guidebook to Laos!
Great breakfast choice, both western and Asian. The baguette bread they had was the best we had in Laos. The staff went out of their way to make you welcome, and we ended up extending our stay because we loved luang prabang so much and didnt want to leave the Belle Rive.
Travel tip:
The temples you don't have to pay for are in fact the most impressive. Phousi hill climb a disappointment the trees block the view of the city. Buddha caves and waterfall go by motorbike much more fun and memorable

Spent 3 nights in the Mango rooms - beautiful rooms with shared terrace. Stayed an extra night in a Tamarind room - well appointed room with great view, but layout was a little dysfunctional.
The hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes away from the man street by foot - close enough to everything but far enough away from the tourist traffic. The staff were very attentive and friendly and made our stay even better.
This would be my first choice given the opportunity to return to Luang Prabang.

Beautiful location in the quiet end of town that is a short walk from a number of nice restaurants and temples. The hotel is really three adjacent, rather small, buildings that face the Mekong River across a not very busy road. Consequently, the rooms differ in each of the buildings. The restaurant has a somewhat limited kitchen, and seating is open air across the road on the hotel patio above the Mekong River. If raining, the hotel has rather limited seating options in the reception area. Staff is young and extremely friendly.

After a 7 hour minibus journey from Vang vieng it was relaxing to walk into the BelleRive hotel with friendly and helpful staff.The rooms are double height with the bed upstairs.There is no bath in the room we had and the decor was traditional and painted in a dark orange.The staff were helpful in every way.We rented the bicycles for free for a couple of days which were well maintained.
