Location is near major sites. Staff was very helpful.

The old wing was under renovation (where we would have preferred to stay). New wing, while comfortable, did not have televisions in the rooms. Getting around the hotel meant constantly going up and down stairs.

The Villa Santi is one of the better hotels in Luang Prabang. The old wing is the preferred place in which to stay. It makes sense to check to see if the renovations are completed. The new wing is fine in the meantime. It is easy to walk to most of the main sites in Luang Prabang. The hotel is on the main street, but a block from the start of shops. Some of the better restaurants are only a minute or two from the hotel.

Nightlife Tip : Have a drink st Lao Lao Gardens. It is terrace restaurant/bar with wood burning fires to keep people warm in the cool evenings in the fall/winter months./

Walking distance to town.

Dirty and cramped rooms. Hard beds. Very steep, open to weather stairs, which have to be climbed to rooms and breakfast.

We booked this hotel in conjunction with its sister hotel the Resort because for a week we knew we would need a swimming pool at some point! It was under reconstruction so out of action. Most of the hotel was under reconstruction and closed. Our room was grubby and you had to climb over the avocado bath to get to the pink loo and basin- charming it wasn't. Didn't really want to put our clothes into drawers there. All over town there are lovely guest houses, clean and tidy at half the price. Breakfasts are available all over town, take my advice and stay elsewhere. It was a big big disappointment to us both.

Hotel Feature Tip : If you like dirt with hard beds and steep, steep stairs, then this one's for you.

Good location, but rooms so so. Guest Rating: 5.3

There is also a partner Spa Resort outside of town linked by a shuttle bus where you can go for a swim. A very smart development but too far from town.

Restaurant Tip : L'Elephant Restaurant Francais - just 200 yards from the hotel - is highly recommended.

Overall it is a good hotel but a little bit old, so it is not that comfortable!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Mekong River was a wonderful experience.

This was our second stay at Villa Santi and they didn't disappoint. Everything is a five-minute walk away....shops, restaurants, travel agents and situated between the Mekhong and the Nam Khan Rivers. I haven't found any other accommodations to compare at this price range.

Restaurant Tip : L Elephant is on the next corner and has great food. The staff are of a very high standard, and the atmosphere is great.

Great hotel in a wonderful town. Guest Rating: 9.7

We really wanted to like this hotel after the very nice pictures and publicity but I am sorry to say that we found it disappointing. I think it must have been the only place in town for a long time. Standards are quite low, which would be fine but the hotel charges international prices and sets itself international standards. It does not meet them, and I just don’t find that shabby is charming. The rack rate including taxes is US$204 for a double; thank fully we got a 50% discount through this site.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you are visiting Pak Ou Caves (which we enjoyed), make sure you pay a little extra and hire a fast boat otherwise it is a slow trip and maybe not worth the effort. If you take a fast boat you start off on a slow one, go to a local village and then change for a small speedboat. These sit low in the water but are quite fun. Laos Laos Gardens restaurant was lovely - you sit outside in beautiful gardens and can cook your own meal over coals at the table.

The location, the friendliness and competence of staff

none

A hotel where my husband and I take pleasure in staying at each of our visits. The rooms are comfortable and relatively luxurious. The staff is charming and always smiling. Take breakfast on the balcony of the former princely villa is an experience to try absolutely. One flat: the rooms feel a bit damp and moldy.

Location and atmosphere of the hotel (SENSE)

No TV (過GOSEMASU slow the minutes)

Because it faces the main street of Luang Prabang, temples and shops within walking distance located around good enough to museums and other attractions. If the annex is a bit far from the street to get to enjoy relaxing and reading while relaxing in the garden. The hotel has a traditional feel in a colonial style, like one's regular self enjoy the stay so small and friendly staff. Breakfast on the balcony of the main floor, you did great.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visiting the scene in the morning begging you can easily walk 20 seconds on the main street.

Fancy buildings that had stayed in private homes from the former royal family. Breakfast in the two main wings of the ground floor restaurant, an elegant sort of immersion in the mood.

The building of the narrow room.

You can sort of feel we stayed rich atmosphere of this building was renovated hotel is renowned as a private mansion from the former royal family of Laos. The famous begging morning, the column passed through the streets of monks in front of the hotel.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The early morning begging monks passed through the famous street in front of the hotel. It also comes across time and groups can visit the begging bowl and slowly出歩KAZU it.
