Thamana L. Business travelers Thailand, February 14, 2013	4 Star hotel at 0 star services Stolen room, broken CCTV 3 My stay at this four star hotel was a big disappointment. My room was stolen when I went away overnight to take care of an important business. When I showed evidences to the assistant manager, she promised to check CCTV. Several hours later when I went back to follow up on the complaint, the clerk brushed off responsibility to explain the situation by saying that CCTV is broken. I was told to wait for the manager for 1 and a half hour. When I showed up at the appointment time, the manager wanted me to wait for another half an hour but I refused to wait any longer. The manager did refund after all evidences confirming that two people and at least one is a woman stayed in my room when I was away. When I expressed concerns over the broken CCTV, she explained the CCTV was not broken but the hard drive did died. The hotel did refund me for the stolen night. Strongly recommend not to stay at this hotel. Do not put your self at risk with broken CCTV.
Mrs. V. Families with older children Thailand, February 13, 2013	It is an impressive hotel overlooking the Mekong. Nice Hotel near the Mekong River 8.7 You can enjoy the incredible sunsets over the Mekong from your own room (assuming you have the west facing rooms). The staff are very good. In particular I must mention Ran who is the front desk manager. She went out of her way to help us on many occasions and made our stay enjoyable. Cons The rooms are good to average for a high class hotel. The bathrooms look dated and generally need updating. The breakfast is adequate and could be better. Hardly any fruit in the morning buffet. The restaurant staff are very good but the restaurant itself is let down by a boring menu and lack of explanation of the various Lao dishes. When we tried the restaurant the food was less than impressive. During our stay at the hotel, my wife accidentally cut her finger, and when i asked the hotel if there was a first aid kit to treat a minor cut I was told that there was none. Parts of the hotel are undergoing renovation although this is not obvious from the outside. Shopping Tip: The hotel is a short walk (400 metres ) to the large Doarang Market which is worth seeing especially as you are likely to only see locals there. It is very safe to wander round.
