Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.
We want you to pay the lowest possible rate for your room. If you have reserved a hotel room through Agoda, and then show us that you could book the same room, for the same dates, at a lower rate, that is viewable and bookable on another website, within 48 hours of booking your room with us, we will either match that rate or beat it. Champasak Palace Hotel Pakse Info
Once the palace of Jao Boon Oum, the last king of Lao, the palace was renovated into a hotel and retains its former charms. Located in the heart of Pakse District, a short way to the Sedone River and Wat Pra and the Lane Xang Bank, the hotel is within walking distance of the Tourism Authority and Wat Pra Bat. The town centre is a short ride away by local taxi (tuk-tuk). The hotel boasts beautiful colonial architecture and the sweeping verandas give majestic views of the beautiful countryside. The rooms have charm and comfort and a new wing has less expensive but simple rooms that provide a good base to explore Pakse. The restaurant serves good local and international food. Try Delta Coffee, a short walk from the Champasak Palace, which offers some of the best food in town. Champasak Palace Hotel is easy to book - just enter your travel dates on our secure online booking form.

One of the few acceptable hotels in Pakse
Free airport transfer
Musty smell
The hardest possible pillows
Sporadic internet
Really bad breakfast
Coming to Pakse you are faced with very few choices, and this is one of the better hotels. I stayed in 2 different rooms. My first room (304) had this intensely musty smell that got to your throat as you came in; it tended to go away when you started the A/C -- to come back in the middle of the night, when you turn the A/C off to sleep.
My second room (201) had been refurbished recently so it was in considerably better conditions. The hotel had forgotten to turn my hot water on so I took a cold shower at night but they rectified the problem immediately when I called them. Do ask them whether they turned the hot water on!
First stay, there was internet a couple of hours in the evening. Second stay (4 days later) no internet at all!

The rooms are neat, clean and well maintained. We were especially impressed with how nice the bathroom was: spacious, spotless and everything worked.
The buffet breakfast was rather drab and ordinary. (But, the coffee was excellent.)
The Champasak Palace Hotel was built in the 1960's as a palace for a Lao "king". It has a stunning location overlooking the Sedon River. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The air con, water heater and TV all worked flawlessly. The gardens on the grounds are both interesting and well-maintained. Have your included buffet breakfast on the outdoor terrace with views of the river. Enjoy the Lao coffee.
The main shopping district of Pakse is about ten minutes by foot.
Restaurant Tip : Across the street and towards town a bit is the Delta Cafe which has an extensive menu of Thai, Lao and Western food.
