a very plesant French colonial building

A wonderful building from the French colonial period, in need of some TLC, but Laos is a very poor country. Staff are most helpful. The gardens are beautiful. The whole city is just beyond the gates of the hotel. The plateau and the Mekong are well worth visiting

The Hotel is centrally located with a good restaurant. The rooms are spacious and clean. Tours can be booked for you by friendly staff. Breakfast is simple but good.

Room was ok, air conditioning worked well. there was no fridge as described. It was a good room to crash for a couple of days after treating. Staff not good English, but they tried.

The bed was very uncomfortable with the springs digging into our backs. The drain in the sink was corroded and leaked onto the floor, but when this was noted to the staff, he went out got the new components and the drain was replaced.

The bungalows are lovely with pretty decoration on the outside and a good sense of privacy. The furniture inside was clean and all matched - it felt like they'd put some real effort into making it a nice place. We didn't actually eat there but the restaurant seemed popular in the evening. There was even an outdoor, shaded 'living room' space where you could buy drinks. The only real downside was that the internet was unusable, even for a quick email check.

The hotel itself is nice and clean. It is OK for the price. But I had one thing I am not satisfied. I asked at the reception about the transportation to Chanpassak and Wat Phu, we would like to move from Pakse to 4000 Island afterward. He said "There is no transport from Champassak to 4000Islands, so you need to come back here, Pakse" so we gave up to move, stayed 1 more night there. But actually there are many transportation, he lied to us beacuse he wanted us to stay longer, I guess. This kind thigs always happen near here, I know, but I just hate it. He wasted our time.
Restaurant Tip:
Jasmine ( Indian Restaurant ), 3 mins walk from the hotel is very nice. Delicious and cheap.
