nice hotel with excellent breakfast
8
the hotel was very clean, staff was very professional. the best part was the breakfast, which was very good, and just enough. bathroom set up was a bit strange, with the shower behind the door leaving the entire bathroom under water and not very useable until it has been cleaned again. wi-fi signal strong in our room.
Hotel Feature Tip:
we travelled onward from vang vieng to luang prabang by bus. we did not book via the hotel, and found a ticketing agency just down the road. might be better to actually ask the hotel to make a booking, because we felt a bit done in. this does seem to be a bit of a trend in laos though - the bus you end up on is not necessarily what was advertised or what you paid for! also, we got dropped outside of luang prabang and had to pay a tuk tuk for a short trip into the centre of town.

Good location, cheap and spacious rooms
7.3
Although Vang Vieng is a tourist city and there are a lot of hotels around, there seems to be a lack of luxury hotels and this is no exception. Laos Haven is a decent guesthouse accommodation, and the price is good, but all hotels in the area offer cheap rooms anyway.
Choice of breakfast is limited and the waiting time can be disappointingly long.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are bike shops across from the hotel. Exploring Vang Vieng via bikes makes it much more enjoyable.

Super hospitality and value for money
location, owners, service, large rooms
10
This small hotel is run by a friendly and helpful Singaporean couple who do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable and help you with anything you need. It is clean, quiet, large rooms, and breakfast included (carefully cooked and served by the owners). It is located a little ways away from the bars and restaurants, so you can have a good night's sleep in this quiet location, but close enough that you can walk to anything in a few minutes.

Pleasent stay at Lao Haven
Very good value for money, good location, good food
9.3
We had a great stay at the Lao Haven Hotel. You get very good value for money at this place, clean rooms, good food and good tips. The owner is always keen on sharing information about Vang Vieng and its surroundings. We booked all our buses and tours through them and it all worked great.
Restaurant Tip:
have a BBQ at Peeping Som's

Basic but clean
Good location and nice owners
7.3
We stayed there for 3 nights. The room is basic and not big but clean. Breakfast is good. The owners are nice and friendly. We booked a minibus from a company which happens to be just next to the hotel. This is very convenient. The hotel is located not far from restaurants and market area. Only bad point is it is quite dusty but it is dusty in Vangvieng in general anyway.

Absolutely amazing
The staff couldnt do enough for us, best possible prices for trips and transport, they treated us as if we were special.
9.3
We didn't expect standards of accommodation and customer service as high as what we found at Laos Haven.
They went out of their way to get us on a canoe trip down to Vientiane, we couldn't have asked for more.
As good a place if not better than any others we have stayed at throughout SE Asia.

Nice, quiet and freshly renovated guesthouse
clean, simple, modern rooms. lovely, friendly and helpful singaporian managng couple.

We (couple) stayed there for 2 nights only, but could have been longer.
The guesthouse is a bit more expensive than others around but it s worth it.
The rooms were modern, clean, and appealing. The owners are lovely and so helpful, not pushing you for any treks for their commissions. Breakfast can be chosen from various options and is eaten outside.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Kajaking
Mountain Biking see caves and blue lagoon

Absolutely brilliant
Nicest hotel owners we have met.

Everything was perfect for us here, got laundry done which was very cheap and smelt nice.they upgraded us for free as our room wasnt ready.breakfast was lovely.wifi was great.they booked our onward travel for us,great location just far enough for a quiet sleep but short walk to main bar areas.and when we asked to stay another night they kept the room price the same as the cheap deal we got on agoda,no one else in south east asia has done that in our 4 months here, they couldnt have done more for us.stay here
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The tubing was excellent and lots of people agree its a nicer place since shutting the druggy bars on the river down

Clean, friendly, everything works as advertised!
Friendly and helpful staff
8.7
Staff couldn't do enough to help you, and the room was quite basic, but very clean and with working air con, hot water and fast Internet. Good location, few minutes walk to the main bars and restaurants but not noisy at night.
