stunning view

No check in/check out procedures which was fine with our group. Staff gladly changed one room to have twin beds instead of double bed. However broken shower head was not attended to - like showering under a garden hose! Breakfast was adequate, no buffet but could order a cooked breakfast on request as there were no other guests. Rooms were dated but fine for the price we paid and the view was fabulous. Would stay again.

Quiet hotel in pleasant surroundings
Quiet location, views of river and mountains. Affordable.

Once we were relocated to a room where the air conditioner worked, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is located alongside the river and good scenic and cultural views are to be had. The backpackers who had previously created great nuisance to the locals have now largely moved on since their main activity of consuming cheap alcohol and jumping from high poles into the shallow river has bed shut down by the government. Now one can take a leisurely canoe ride on the river, explore any of many limestone caves nearby or visit waterfalls and the Blue lagoon. Many affordable restaurants are closeby, or you can dine in and watch the sun set behind the mountains.

Please note that if you are coming from Vientiane, your buses normally will stop at Malani Guest house or at Thavisouk Resort. If you are dropped off at Thavisouk bus station, please turn left on your way out for about 50 meters, once you see the Vang Vieng Secondary school on your right, please take the way down to the river on the opposite side of the school and the Thavonsouk Resort will be on your right hand-side when you walk down.
