Unremarkable, other than the friendly receptionsts

chose this hotel based on fairly high rating given by agoda users, and this was one of those instances in which the rating was too high. the receptionists speak decent english and are helpful with maps and directions. our room was relatively small. shower was good, as was the bed. the free in-room wifi worked well. the free breakfast was disappointing. i've stayed in better hotels in vientiane that cost about the same, so i won't be returning to this hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The Aroon Residence is set back off a main road -- about 50 meters down an alleyway. It is easy to miss, but our tuk tuk driver knew where it was, so not a big problem for us. The Laos Cultural Center and a good Indian restaurant (Taj Mahal) are within walking distance.

The Aroon Residence was excellent. Room was large, very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Location was a bit out of the way but quiet. Poor TV reception.

Nice hotel with very helpful staff

we used this hotel as an overnight stay to go to vang vieng.
rooms were quite basic and the bathroom needed a little facelift but other than that, it made for a goodnight sleep.
staff were really helpful in organising transport to vang vieng and spoke very clear english.

The manager n all the staffs are very helpful n they speak very good english which is a plus point to us in our arranegment for golf booking and transportation. The hotel is well located and not too far from all places of interest including the mekong riverside. Breakfast though simple it is really enjoyable with french loaf 2 eggs of your choice bacon n laotian hot dogs which comes with cofee and fruits. Thereare also choices of congee or noodle soup.

this is a decent hotel in vientienne, but probably not the best. location is not that good considering the price which is not that cheap for laos. also there is construction camp next door so can be noise, but this is common in laos. staff are very good and it's all very clean. breakfast is very nice too.

very nice clean rooms. breakfast is from menu, food is ok. not far from the centre like 10 min walk. central location to visite the main attractions. we had à nice stay, big bed and nice bathroom. they have good restaurants near the river to eat, very cheap. we visite the budha park to kill the time, after 15 minutes you have seen it, so it is not worth the trip, only if you have à free extra day.

Really enjoyed our stay at Aroon. The staff are very friendly and happy to orient us about town. The rooms are good value for the price. They're large and comfortable. Furniture is slightly old-fashioned but it doesn't detract from the attractiveness of the whole hotel. It's very homely.
Breakfast was delicious although servings were a little too small for my liking. There's a good variety of breakfast sets available-- from American breakfast (sausage, eggs, etc.) to porridge/congee and pasta.
Finally, the free transfer to the airport was very much appreciated! Overall an excellent hotel; one that I'd like to return too the next time I'm here in Vientiane.
