Great location and quaint inn. Ideally located to walk to the river, European Old Quarter and the Morning and Central markets. The Day Inn now has two locations in Vientiane - this is the one about 4 blocks from the river.

This is not the ritz, but it's clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Nice to hear so much English after being in Isaan, Thailand for a month teaching English in a rural high school. The don't have up to date info on the International bus to Khon Kaen and didn't seem to be inclined to make a phone call, but the folks at the Lao Plaza next door were most helpful.

The food is excellent and we ate lunch there a couple of times. Breakfast is OK, not a buffet like some other hotels - but certainly adequate - and the french bread was a welcome treat!

Centrally located, clean cozy small hotel. Wall is painted with Tunisian blue. Breakfast is nice if you choose porridge (chicken, beef or pork)

Not actually (Not direct booking, they didn't informed us of their free pickup service.)

Had I know their free airport pickup service, I could have saved USD6, a pity (-_-; Room is good enough in size and cleanliness, bathtab is large and hot shower available. Considering location, service and facility itself, this hotel can be said good for value :-) I would stay here again if by chance coming back to Vientiane.

-Staff gave good service -Currency exchange rate was good -The room was very nice (spacious, best bathroom I've seen yet, well kept up...) -good location

The breakfast was somewhat poor, not much selection, bland food, little in vegetarian options.

This hotel was one of the best values (what we got for the price paid) during this South East Asia trip (we were in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand). It wasn't the absolute cheapest place we had during the trip, but it was the best room we had during the trip, it was a very good location for seeing things (in Vientien), and the staff spoke English fluently and were very helpful. The food (breakfast) wasn't that great, but considering how nice the room was (the helpful staff) and good location we were still more than happy with the hotel.

Helpful staff. Good breakfast included. Quiet. Close to center of town. Clean room, with air and heat. Extra pillows when requested.

None

This hotel is small but big in service. Breakfast had 5 choices and when our taxi did not show to take us to the airport they did. I asked for 2 extra pillows and they brought them right away. Cable TV. It is only a 5 minute walk to center of town but they also serve food and beverages there.

Restaurant Tip : Blue Bananas just up on the main street-- very good food and ice cream and good prices.

central location. nice and tidy rooms, friendly service, big bathroom

nothing I noticed

We only stayed in this hotel for one night which is a bit short. Would have loved to stay longer since this nice and modern hotel is centrally located and within walking distance from the city center- if you can call the walking streets and the shops downtown area. Within a few minutes walk from the Mekong. I would certainly stay in this hotel again and can only recommend any guest to stay there.

Restaurant Tip : Next to the fountain is a very nice and popular restaurant- forgot the name- but you see the two-level building as soon as you get there.

The room was fantastic for the price, friendly staff, very clean.

older building. not centrally located.

This hotel is great for the price. The building used to be an old embassy. The rooms are spacious, and well appointed, with a very simple, nice, open, old-style feel that's evokes thoughts of movies such as Casablanca. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful; the food service was fantastic, with a selection that was large and delicious. Overall a wonderfully pleasent experience for the price. I would easily stay at this hotel again.

Nightlife Tip : Not much of a nightlife near the hotel; but a short Tuk-tuk trip will take you to a booming dance club at the Novotel.

Clean, affordable, fairly good location

not much character, poor breakfast

The hotel is pretty basic - clean, affordable and comfortable but doesn't have much character. Staff are friendly and try to be helpful but don't seem to know what they are doing. We had some confusion when we tried to check out, as the clerk didn't understand that we had already paid using an Agoda voucher (he had the voucher in his hand but didn't know what he was looking at). Make sure you don't pay twice - I read a review about another hotel in Laos that said the guest spent several months trying to get re-imbursed after having a similar problem!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Any western food that we had was average, but all of the Laos food was excellent and very affordable. Tuk-tuks can be a real rip off in Vientiane - it's a small city, better to walk unless you're going on a trip to a site outside of the city center.

Location is quite handy to eveyrthing

Nothing to do there - no pool

The hotel is bearable but there is nothing to do there - no real bar, swimming pool or night life to be had. Venture down to the riverside and enjoy the sunset over the Mekong. The hotel is like an old house, not real secure there so put your belongings in a safe place.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Spend the extra money and stay at a hotel with a swimming pool. real hot, check out the Vientiane hash house harriers and link up with the ex pats who live there for a run and a beer
