It is close enough to the center (walking distance). Breakfast is good. Breakfast area/atmosphere is nice, quite room (if you get the inside room). English speaking and helpfull staff. The rooms are basic but clean.

Location, large bottles of free water, free breakfast, reasonable price.

The front desk could be a bit more efficient.

The Hotel Lao is in a central location of Vientiane close to shops and restaurants. It is now one of the cheapest hotels in Vientiane and is good value with free breakfast and it doesn't have those small free bottles of water - here you get the large ones so you aren't dying of thirst. The standard rooms are quite basic but comfortable. The restaurant has a nice setting with a fish pond.
