Beautiful charming hotel & helpful english staf
Location on the river and in the heart of Vientiane

Staff were lovely and spoke English. The breakfast was great and the location was perfect - straight across the road from the night markets and minutes walk of bike from fantastic restaurants and sights. Vientiane comes alive at night and this hotel was in a perfect location to explore from. Fantastic indochina design.
Hot water system was a bit hard to manage but not too much of an issue in the warm weather.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
explore the night markets which are straight across the road from the hotel. rent a bike for around $1 a day and bike around the city is easy. visit the cope museum - worth a look. fantastic restaurants and sights. vientiane comes alive at night and this hotel was in a perfect location to explore from. fantastic indochina design. bartering is acceptable.

Staff were great. But wouldn't stay there again. Prefer something more upmarket and not really good value for the rate. Linen looked old and not white send fresh. Room was cleaned and sprayed every day.

Good location for night markets and action

Hotel looks a little old and strange with lots and lots of antiques scattered everywhere. The lift wasn't working and we had a room on the 4th floor. Stairwell very dark and narrow. Lots of backpackers stay here and a rooftop bar right next door would suit the younger crowd, however the midnight curfew in Laos means it doesn't go all night. Rooms were comfortable and basic. Linen was pretty tired looking, but for the money, it was OK. The night markets are directly across the road, so well placed for shoppers. Would we stay there again... No. Staff were helpful.
Nightlife Tip:
Rooftop bar Ben Por Young bar right next door. Wifi did not work in our room. And very slow, even in Lobby.

Lovely Hotel and Very Helpful Staff
Beautifully and artistically decorated hotel.

Hotel is beautifully and artistically decorated at the lobby and also on every level and within the rooms. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. However the lift is broken down but with only light buggage and on 3rd level, it was alright for me. Although my room was really beautiful, the shower cold water tap was spoilt and so it was impossible to bath so I requested that they allow me to use the shower of another room intead of changing room. Was wondering what would happen if there is no other vacant room??? The inside of the shower cap box was full of mold. Compensated by the beautiful decor and great staff, I will still return here to stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Good location where right across the road is the Mekong esplanade and where the night market is. I caught the Mekong sunrise and it was beautiful. Missed the sunset, so cant comment. Right across on the opposite bank of the Mekong, it is Nong Khai Province of Thailand.

This hotel decorate with local antique style, quite nice but a bit old. The rooms is big and spacefull. Still value for money as this hotel location is great, opposite Mekong River and night market. Easy to walk around and easy to find the way back to hotel. Next to disco & pub, at night can hear music.
Shopping Tip:
Just shop at night market opposite of the hotel.

This hotel looks a bit old compare to the photos advertised. When arrived, a bit disappointed when look from outside. But after walking around and compare to others, still value for money as near the Mekong river, night market & pub along the river. Easy to go around by walking, tut tut also a lot near the hotel when needed.
