Very nice, right on the Mekong
Easy trip to airport, in the middle of things.
8.3
Very nice young staff, perfectly nice one-of-a-kind rooms. I upgraded to the deluxe room to get a Mekong view. Everything works as well as things work in Laos, and I was perfectly satisfied.

Friendly service in a superb location
Location, location, location! Substantial breakfast, sincere genuine service
8.7
- Room was cleaned well but balcony could use a little sprucing up daily.
- Location cannot be beat, easy to navigate and access.
- Catching the sunset from our balcony drinking Beer Lao was heavenly!
- Music next door can be a bit loud till midnight, can hear the pulsation as our room share a common wall.
- Grateful there is free WiFi but it doesn't always work and can be slow at times.
- Breakfast was very substantial, egg station was refreshing and always served with a smile!
- Will definitely stay here again and strongly recommend to others

Unique
Everything is in walking distance

the rooms in this old hotel have been nicely renovated and still preserving the charm of the past. the nice old doors were left intact as well as the original wood floors, leaving the feel of the past. wifi is provided in all the rooms. once you go up to the second and third floors you will find almost museum quality laos antiquities on display. very unique and cool. the service was good, but almost not called for since everything was already in place.
Restaurant Tip:
There was a great Italian food restaurant right around the corner called La Gondola. With another five minute walk you will find many world class French and Italian food spots.

charming and great location
room size, staff, location
8.7
this is an older hotel with a slightly faded feel, but the rooms are huge and clean (try for the front ones with view of mekong) the staff are very nice and you could not get a better position. opposite the river and the night market. booking through Agoda i got four nights for the price of three and this made it very good value. Breakfast was OK and included. bathroom a bit old but adequate.
Restaurant Tip:
If you like modern lao food try the mak Phet restaurant, it is a teaching restaurant for less advantaged young people and the food is excellent.

Great location just across from the river.
Not far to walk to the city centre, and the night market is just outside the door.

The room we had was tired but the location far outweighed this. Unfortunately our air-con was leaking and dripped onto the small table where we had left some magazines and maps. Breakfast was adequate. The view out our window was of the Mekong and was beautiful to see the sunset from the small balcony. The reception area was fascinating with the artifacts on display. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Restaurant Tip:
Marphet restaurant or the The Full Moon for a meal. The night market was worth a stroll.
