Reasonably Priced Hotel in a Good Location
Free wifi, located right by the Mekong, good breakfast.

I have stayed at the Inter City on two previous occassions and have no complaints. The hotel is a little old but in a good location, has free wifi and is not expensive.

The location is good - right on the river front, although there is currently extensive work ongoing improving the streetscape here. The hotel itself is in no way boutique though - cluttered with dusty objects everywhere (doubt any are genuine antiques), it has a very dated and tired feel. The carpet in the lift was filthy dirty. My room was large but with dirty windows and very old furniture - a leatherette sofa in the room had several holes in it and had no place in any hotel. To cap it off, the breakfast was almost inedible - tea was the only drinkable option - the sweet and synethetic strawberry juice certainly wasn't.

Unimpressive hotel with nice views
5.3
We stayed two nights at this hotel. We particularly liked the location, just in front of the Mekong river. Our room was quite spacious, with big windows overlooking the river. Unfortunately, there were works going on (a promenade along the river) so it was a bit noisy all day long. The furniture in the room was quite old and in some cases (e.g. sofa) in very bad condition. The (small) bathroom had a funny smell, although it was clean. Internet never seemed to work.

Nice boutique hotel
As a boutique hotel, the decor was definitely unique and pleasing.

The water supply was either cut off or switched off the morning we woke up. As we had to leave early to catch a bus we didn't pursue the matter, hopefully this isn't a regular incident

Good location
Location, friendly staff, decent wifi
8.3
Located right by the river, so easy to get everywhere and close to the nightlife.
I like the internal decor with the antiques.
I've stayed here a few times and the rooms are very variable.
This time my room was small and the bathroom had the sink loose from the wall and the toilet running the whole time and not flushing.
Breakfast was a better selection than most with asian and western selections

eclectic but interesting hotel
good locat and eclectic decor

I have stayed in this hotel about 4 times now so it must mean it is not all bad.
Actually this is a hotel I would love to own as it is in a great location and has so much potential, unfortunately however the current owners are not realising that potential.
Nicely decorated, the interior is getting decidely old now and the bathrooms, whilst not dirty, leave a lot to be desired with broken fixtures and fittings.
However, somehow what would get other hotels struck of my visiting list forever seem to be forgiven in this place although I am not sure I fully understand why myself
Currently there is a large construction site on the river front so it can be noisy but I didnt find it a problem at night and hopefully the end result will be very nice
Nightlife Tip:
Bor pen yang next door has a rooftop bar with great views, cold beer and pool tables, the food is ok too so worth a visit

A mess
Good location, near the river and most important restaurants.

We did not like. The WI-FI was not working, neither the internet room. It is noise, because lots of TukTuk are just under the windows. The rooms are old and the shower is terrible. The breakfast terrible too.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to Pizzeria Cote D'Azur.

There are worse hotels in town, no doubt, but better ones as well. What looked like a good hotel on the net was an odd, quirky, dark, and unpredictable hotel. Our kids didn't mind their moldy-smelling room, but after our first night in an uninspiring, very noisy room, my wife and I upgraded to one of the two "suites." It was a large and pretty good room on the top floor. The internet was hit-and-miss all along in the rooms. Breakfast was depressing. My son and I visited Vientiane in 2001 and stayed in a guest-house at half the price and had a great time. That's the lesson here.
