Clean hotel, shoddy wifi
Clean, big room, bad wifi
We stayed at the Lane Xang Princess Hotel for three nights. The rooms are big, the beds are clean, the wifi shoddy and the hot water came and went as it pleased. The personell is friendly, but rarely speaks English. The hotel is located at a 10 minute walk from the city centre, so no reason to grab a tuktuk into town. There are two malls near the hotel, but they contain mostly jewelry and clothing shops. Good hotel for a short stay. Decent value for money.

Good services
hospitality, clean room,
The location, itself, is not too far from tourists sites, 5 mins walk to Sao Market and 10 mins walk to the fountain square, palace and temples . It's located a bit far from river side which may take you 15-20 mins by foot. The room was quite clean. Staff were very polite and good spoken-English.

Huge clean rooms with good staff
Staff, rooms, comfortable
Stayed there for three nights and would gladly return. Pros: - Rooms are HUGE - Rooms are kept very clean. - Breakfast was a bit better than in most places with a small buffet style combining the usual Asian/American breakfasts - Staff was super friendly and helpful - Location is pretty good. About 15 minutes walking to downtown and on the way to some of Vientiane's best sites. - Comfortable King-sized bed - Very good Internet (for Laos. i.e. it's still bad, but not as bad as in most places). Cons: - No fresh coffee, only instant served, even at breakfast. - While 15-20 minutes walking to downtown isn't that far, it gets a bit annoying after a few days. - Rooms have no windows. - Nothing of interest in the hotel's vicinity except for the morning market which is nothing special.

Fantastic Hotel, a real gem
ultra modern, comfort, quiteness
This is a real find, from the street it doesnt look like much, but it is the nicest hotel we have staed in in several visits to Asia. 10 minutes walk to town. Opposite the Mall, and near the bus station, but is quiet, and comfortable, couldnt ask for more. As far as we are concerned it is the best hotel in Viantienne. Maybe there are fancier ones, but this is a real gem, and no I am not working for or have anything to do with the hotel.

Clean, big room. very good value for money
location, standard of accommodation, no hassle
Smaller than expected from outside but inside it was spacious enough, well-equipped, clean and modern. Staff were friendly but not in your face. Excellent value for money.

Great place, we thoroughly enjoyed staying
large rooms, modern design, quiet
Note: make sure you book a room that says it has a view under the room description! Many rooms in this hotel do not have outside windows. There really are no 'views' but we like natural daylight. We stayed in a deluxe room and a suite and they were both comfortable and good sized. Go for the suite if possible. It's huge with great lighting, bathtub, and living room area. Big lcd tv's with good selection of channels. Both rooms had some mosquitoes so beware. This seems to be a big problem for all of ventiane. The mall (old and not particularly inspiring) is across the street and you are a short walk from the victory monument. Both thai and vietnam embassies are twenty minutes walk away.

New hotel next to the morning market
Spacious rooms and bathrooms, quality internet and good location
This was my second stay at the Lane Xang Princess and it was a good one. Check-in and check-out were fast and efficient, and once in the room everything worked as it should (cable TV, internet and hot water...although it tended to take a while for the hot water to work). Breakfast on the top floor was nothing special with few choices but at least they were slightly different each morning. Choices included some kind of crackers/crispbread with nutella, tea/coffee/watermelon juice, rice gruel (porridge), rice with omelette, bacon, sausages and white toast with jam. Having stayed in numerous hotels in this and slightly higher price range in Vientiane, breakfast doesn't seem to be a strong point of hotels there. However, accounting for the price paid, this hotel is one of the best in the city center area.
