The room is good size clean good value of money. However, the breakfast was slow because you have to wait for them to serve.

Nice place to stay near the fountain
Location is perfect, good value, quiet at night
8
The Malinamphu Hotel has an ideal location near the fountain, a 10 minute walk to the river and promenade. Restaurants, shops, massage, convenience stores are just outside the hotel. Even though it is on a busy steet, it manages to stay quiet, which is helpful for restful sleep at night. The rooms are clean and decent, though nothing special. My room had an air-con that could only be turned on and off by a switch beside the door. It had no temperature/fan control. Room had a micro TV that was so small it was a bit hard to watch. The bathroom was local style, in other words a showerhead on the wall that gets the entire floor wet when you take a shower...not something I like personally, but this is common for Lao hotels at this price range. Staff were nice and helpful, with one in particular speaking excellent English. Breakfast is a choice of several set meals and is pretty basic. This is a solid option in Vientiane and better than many others in town at the price.

Great Location set around a courtyard

I enjoyed our stay here , the staff were friendly the breakfast was ok and the room was quiet if a little basic , but that is reflected in the price. Good value for money , would stay again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do not use the champa spa on the same street,,,Awful!!

A comfortable hotel in a great location near the main fountain with lots of good cafes and restaurants nearby.
We stayed in a standard room which was perfectly comfortable but the view was just onto a passageway and then another building although there was still enough light in the room.
If you want a view of the courtyard, you need to book the superior room.
There isn't a lift so you need to be able to walk up several flights of stairs if you're in a standard room (3rd and 4th floor only) the superior rooms are on lower floors.
Breakfast is included. There are several choices but not the usual eggs and toast! (Mainly Asian but fruit, cereal, baguette and jam were always available.)

a disappointment
location,wifi, delightful courtyard
5.7
I had a 'standard room', but the standard was obviously low. Very small; up two flights of steep stairs; and no usual bathroom provisions or hotel instructions/tips. The breakfast is meagre, and while the staff is obliging and cheerful you feel that this is distinctly despite the tight-wad owner.
Travel tip:
Anoutrage has been committed at the namphu: the space has been privatised with a tasteless construction of food-counters, a stage and overwhelming restaurant spaces

It's right smack in the city centre. The courtyard is lovely, very much like the old colonial style with lush greens. One sits there for breakfast as gets away from the bustle of the city. The rooms are clean and staff are friendly. All these for a fraction of a four o five star outfit, great value

It is a charming hotel eith great value. Once you pass the unimpressive lobby, you enter the courtyard. It has a villa feel with greens and very colonial atmosphere, the breakfast is served in the courtyard with delightful Laos coffee. The staff are eager to please. Step out og the hotel and you are at vientienne centre, near the fountain court. For the price paid, it is great value
