Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Very nice boutique hotel
New, nice design, cool restaurant area

We are a family of four that really liked Mandala. It is new and fresh and there are many places to hang out and relax, read, surf the web, etc. The location is a 20 minute walk or 4 minute tuk-tuk to the central area (and they yummy Joma Cafe.) Mostly, we just hung out at the various places to do so. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant. Watch out for mosquito's at dusk and dawn.

pleasant stay in more than adequate hotel
clean room, good sized bathroom and helful staff
7.7
the hotel was clean. The staff were helpful but spoke limited english which meant that ordering breakfast was always an adventure as you were never sure that the waiter understood what you were asking for. The rooms were chalet style, clean, good sized bathroom and I would say good value.

Very nice hotel, quiet location
Great setting, helpful staff, friendly owners
7.7
We stayed in a suite and it was great. The room was large, well-appointed and comfortable and was very well cleaned. The bathroom was absolutely huge, with both a large shower and a bathtub. Mandala is a bit removed from the centre, but we found the walk - about 1 to 2 km depending on where you're going - to be great. It's also an easy tuk-tuk ride for non-walkers. Breakfast was very good as was the service. A unique occurrance during our stay was the birthday of two of the hotel owners. We and other hotel guests, along with many of the owners' personal friends, were invited to a wine and cheese reception in the hotel gardens, compliments of the hotel. It was delightful and we felt privileged to be invited. We'll definitely stay at Mandala Boutique Hotel again!

Front reception is very nice,
Feel like staying at a friend's home
8.3
The room we got was very nice but the A/C was right on top of the bed, which made us uncomfortable.
We got a little bit confused if we should take our shoes off in the hotel, because there was a sigh telling you to Take off your shoes but the hotel staffs didn't do it, and the floor wasn't that clean.
The hotel was not too far to walk to the night market. The breakfast was very nice.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Enjoy morning walk and see the nice quiet town with people coming out in front of their home donate food to monks.

good rooms but awful service
3.7
the hotel is ok, the service was awful! room was not ready at 3 in the afternoon. Internet did not work in room, had to go to lobby. manager said Internet provider problem...looks like a hotel Internet distribution problem. next day manager said , as I was sitting in the lobby on my ipad, the Internet problem was solved...why was I in the lobby. went to the restaurant to get a glass of wine, was talent to the wine refrigerator any many bottles. asked for a glass, restaurant manager said go to your mini bar! thank you.
took mini bar wine.....time to check out(good), asked if the hotel would reserve a taxi for the airport. in the mean time walk around the city. hotel said car was reserved and we had to pay at the hotel. returned to hotel for taxi. the receptionist said we hadn't paid for the wine from the mini bar, correct. so 10 US dollars for a mini bar wine?????beware the price list is stuck to the inside of the refrigerator door, see if you can read this at 10 in the evening. taxi arrive and off we go, but had not paid for taxi at hotel. driver brings us to our destination and ask for more than we had asks and will only accept thai bharts. finally pay in kip and leave. I cannot recommend this hotel
Travel tip:
hotel is a not real close to the center

Nice place but long walk to riverfront/downtown
Nice room and ammentities
6
Overall we enjoyed our stay here. The Suite was nice, but nothing special. The dining area is outside and the breakfast was limited but good. During the end of the dry season it was still pleasant, but when the hot or humid weather arrives things will change. Mosquitoes were abundant already--inside and out.
Staff were friendly and helpful though lower level staff didn't have a sufficient grasp of English. That caused several misunderstandings.
Next time I feel I would want a place closer to the riverfront/downtown area.
