Great and pleasant stay for the second time.

Location, Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and free wifi
9.7
It was the second time I went there and it was a pleasant stay one more time. I went there with my 4 months old son and the first room was on the second floor. It was not convenient so the day after, they gave us another room on the first floor. They also offered their water heater at the reception desk as we needed some for the baby and we had none in the room. The last night I stayed there, my son was sick so without hesitation, they jumped with us in a Tuk-Tuk and translated for us at the hospital what is a way over expectation when you reserve a hotel room. The staff are very human and it deserves to be said. Their customer service is a way better than many 5 stars hotels I have seen before. Everytime I go to Laos, I choose this hotel without hesitation. Please, do the same :)

"Sorry, our email broken for 2 days, no info about your reservation, no rooms for you". We've been told to contact Agoda for refund and it took one whole month to solve the issue after.

Decay and Neglect

Central Location
3
The Saysouly hotel is very centrally situated, minutes walk from the river and Namphu fountain. That's the only good thing about it. The rooms have that all too familiar appearance of decay and neglect that is found at almost all budget accommodations in Vientiane. I paid for an ensuite room but was put in a room with no bathroom on first arriving as the owner had overbooked but he did move me the following day to an ensuite room. All the usual tell tale signs of neglect are there. No domestic household cleaners are used to clean the rooms. The dirt just piles up, nothing is ever repaired when broken. Like many budget hotels and guesthouses it is slovenly. I had to ask to have the room cleaned which was done with a lot of reluctance. All it amounted to was a shake of the duvet and they emptied a waste bin, took all of two minutes. The shower was scary, there were loose wires externally exposed, not really a safe setup where there is flowing water. They do do rooms for about $7 a night though which is reasonable value if you're short of money. I was paying about $17 a night which represented poor value for what I got. No complimentary water, no toilet role and only one towel. Wouldn't stay there again but it's a conundrum to find a decent place in central Vientiane for around $20. In this price range all the accommodation is consistently bad. The hotel is situated down a quiet street that leads down to the river which is a plus as it is away from the traffic. The Internet is poor, it doesn't work in the rooms and is intermittent in the lobby.

Terrible guesthouse with one upside

Good location
3
So, firstly about upside. It's good location of this guesthouse - just 200 m to Fountaine pavilion and approximately 400 - to Wat Sisaket and Wat Ho Pra Kheo. But really it was very dirty uncomfortable rooms without any signs of cleaning before you've stayed there. And unfriendly staff. And no wifi - for me this cons was one of the most serious. I'm sure, when the information about hotel didn't correlate with actual situation - it's unfair and cheatiang of guests!

Its Okay

Central location, big room, nice bed.
5.3
Our stay was ok. Good location and big rooms. The staff are not very helpfull as they just spent their time in the sofa watching tv. Alright value for the money. The hotel is one of the cheaper places to stay in Vientiane.

Basic hotel central part of town

Central area, quiet area but walking distance to food and bars
5.7
Very basic but large rooms and shared balcony. The older male member of staff spoke English and was very helpful, the younger member not so much of either. The sheets were really stained.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The bowling alley is really cheap and a good night out.

Very friendly family hotel

Convenient location, hot showers, clean room
9
We were met by the friendly family as soon as we walked in and were made feel very welcome. The hotel is clean and the showers are hot and it is a very convenient location.we were within a short walk of the night markets and wonderful street food. The highlight of the food was the banana rotis on sale everywhere on the street. The hotel is very quiet so for couples of the older age group it is very good. My conclusion is that it is the perfect venue to stay in LPB.
Shopping Tip: The ethnic crafts on the streets near the hotel are great

The worst hotel in Vientiane!!!!

Nothing!
2.7
We arrived at 7:30pm at the hotel and the receptionist was having dinner or something, the but the service was absolutely awful!!! We felt like we were bothering them... The room was dirty, the bed and sheets had bedbugs and were smelly so we assume that they don't change them after the checkout! The toilet was dirty and had big spiders on the shower. We couldn't sleep until 12:30am because there is a Karaoke right next to the hotel and the music was so aloud! The place was infected with mosquitoes everywhere so be prepared and buy repellent in advance... We stayed one night because we made the booking and we didn't want to loose our money! the place is horrible and expensive.

a reasonably priced Hotel in an excellent position

Sitting in front of the Hotel, sipping a cold beer, enjoying the huge veranda's too
5.7
In the process of running further down the drain, maintenance urgently needed...
Restaurant Tip: Up the main road to the left are two cafe's, the last one serves delicious snacks, a real dummy French treat
