Lovely people--Beautiful setting.

Warm welcome, beautiful gardens, peaceful and quiet.

When we arrived it was hot, dry and our Taxi driver was stressed as he did not know where to go, the lady we first met could not speak any other language than her own (Lao) and we wondered if we had made a mistake, (so did the taxi driver). The daughter of the owner arrived speaking excellent English and sorted out evervthing! After settling into a nice, if fairly basic chalet, (but with the best shower and most comfortable bed we had slept in for 2 weeks) we explored the grounds. This place is totally amazing!--The owner has created a pleasure garden with lakes, gardens, walks with bridges over the lakes, every type of shelter with tables and seats so you can picnic almost everywhere. A restaurant/cafe with good food and drinks overlooking one of the lakes and if you are in one of the seating areas outside the staff will bring your food and drink to you. This is very much a place for Lao people and we were honoured to be there, it is not a place for everyone, almost everyone speaks only Lao,(much like England where we only speak english) but everyone is kind, honest, helpful, and so cheerful,in fact the language barrier is easily overcome if you are willing to try. We loved the experience, having stayed in the middle of Vientiene it was good to be somewhere quiet to end our stay in Laos. Thank you to everyone at Vanna Resort.
