Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Really acceptable
Staff, breakfast, location
8.3
The problems with this hotel were 1. really poor AC during the hot day, would spit out ice if you turned it too high, 2. shower took a very long time to get warm (never hot) but maybe it was because I was on the third floor, 3. way too bright at day, if you need to rest or nap, 4. very basic internet, don't expect to do anything other than send emails.
Having said all that, I still think the place was a good option. I didn't see any bedbugs, which is on almost all the reviews for hotels near this price. It did have wifi, even if it was slow. The beds were really pretty comfortable, after the sun went down, it cooled a bit. The staff was pretty accommodating. The location was perfect. The breakfast omelet was better than most hotel buffet breakfasts. Cable tv with english channels. Large balcony on the 3rd floor.

It's just so so for the price. I originally wish to extend one nite but the keeper said it's full. I walked to the next door, and found a bigger, nicer yet cheaper room. That is.

Good location but so-so hotel

1st visit to Laos/Vientianne....stayed 4 days but 2 days raining thus was not able to venture out to the nature attractions. Town center nothing to shout about, hotel was located right in the heart of town, but then again town is so small that its ok to actually stay in any hotels in town, more importantly is to pick a good & clean place to stay. Vongkhamsene looks better on pictures, actual exterior of hotel is great, however i got a shock upon arrival when was told any booking made for standard room is actually ONLY on grd floor! No good no good, room was dark at the end of the lobby, pull the curtain aside and you look out the window to a retaining wall thats smack in yor face and dark. Mosquitos in room, plenty of channels on cable but all blurry and most channels in Laos and lack of english channels. Will pick anotehr hotel if im back in Laos again
Nightlife Tip:
Small town, unlike bangkok, Vientianne has no distinct identity of its own, food is similar to thai food, but less spicy and overall average. There are more western food than local. I dont go to Vientianne for french food or bakery. So it actually defeats the purpose. Nightlife is pathetic, for solo travellers looking for a good time, you'll be better off in Bangkok (or any Thai city for that matter), even Hatyai's sleepy town is better, VTE is sleepier! Evrything closes at 11.30pm, overall food & drinks are not cheap, im not sure y so many said its cheap, either they have not been to Bangkok or they;re comparing relative to their western home coutries. Many backpackers around, purely lounging at the lobby of their guest houses, drinking beer and staring at nothing. I guess laos is about eco-tourism, nature, caves and rivers, so if you're heading to Laos, dont stay in town, dont even book a room 1st, go there n take a bus/train (4-12 hours ride) into thw wilderness, that should be the attraction, not the city center.
