I'm stay in Emperor Hotel on 12/12/2011. Before that,we have booking 3 rooms for standard room, but final their standard room already full on that day, so that thier staff also automatic upgrade to us without increase price. And their service also very good even this is not very big hotel. It worth to stay in this hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Want to inform all guest, actually Emperor Hotel have shuttle van transport between ferry terminal to hotel although can't find any info in website or internet but It is my actual experience.

Overall, the hotel has a great location as it's just opposite the old and new Lisboa Casino and other casinos. It's is also within walking distance to Senado Square. The size of the room is big as well.
My only complain is the bed.... it's as hard as a rock. Not much difference if you would to sleep on the carpeted floor or the bed. My partner could hardly get any sleep because of it.
A few shops away from the hotel, there is a 24hours Taiwanese rest (Ding Tai Fung) which serves good food.

Old hotel with strategic location
It is very near to few renown casino hotels, eg. Galaxy, StarWorld & Wynn

the hotel is a bit old, the room is clean but certain features were not working, like the standing lamp. besides this, it is convenient to move around, just walk to galaxy and board to the free shuttle, and this can brings you to many places of attraction.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Many free shuttle offer by near by big hotels.

The hotel staffs were very friendly throughout the stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and room service was good. Hotel was near the major casinos in macau. The hotel is near to the shopping area also. A very good place.

the location of this hotel is good. not very difficult to flag down a taxi. there are some local food outlets nearby. i have stayed at the executive room and it is clean and comfortable. no problem with the checking in/out procedure. we walked to wynn, star world & mgm casinos which is nearby only. but this hotel does not have frequent bus shuttle to the ferry terminal. so what we did was we walked to wynn casino and took their free bus shuttle to the ferry terminal. at the ferry terminal, we hopped onto the free bus shuttle to venetian, city of dreams & galaxy. so we saved a lot of taxi fare.

It is walking distance to Wynn & Star World Casino.

Affordable hotel

sadly, we got off the taipa ferry terminal and not the main ferry terminal so there was no shuttle to emperor hotel from there. good thing it's close lisboa and grand lisboa so we just take their shuttle bus and walk to the hotel.
the hotel is "ok" for the price, we love the glass wall hahahah, the bed is comfy. however, the floor is not sparkling clean, there was no robe and tv has no cable channels..the view is not spectacular but it really is just for sleeping really! so we don't really mind.
we love that we can use hk dollars for every expense while in macau, didn't need to bother with foreign exchange!
last i've been to macau was 1994 and what i saw during our 1 st wedding anniv this month was awesome, it had changed so much! especially the cotai part! i still think that there is not much to do in macau..but we will go back there and see the quiet side of macau :p we don't gamble and malls in macau are boring..they're so quiet compared to hk!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Attractions for "night life" is in Cotai..so if you're up for that, it would be best you stay in Cotai. If you like St. Paul ruins, the lighthouse and all that, you should stay in Macau city.
It's lovely that you barely need to spend for public transpo since you can just take the hotel shuttles but do know that the big hotels have more shuttle buses than the smaller ones(i.e. Emperor Hotel).

Stayed in one of the executive rooms on the top floor. Rooms are a good size but visibly old and dated. Breakfast was pathetic and amounted to a few food warmers with badly cooked items in it served in their 4th floor ballroom.
Good location though, right in the thick of things. Likely will not stay here again, better options at similar prices.
