Very good location
very good location - near the Sands hotel & near the macau ferry terminal
8.3
What I like best about this hotel is its location, its near the Sands Casino and the Macau Ferry terminal. Sands casino hotel is just a walk away from Golden Dragon, you just pass by the mini garden between it, in the Sands Casino - almost all big hotel's shuttle are going there - you just ride one shuttle that will go nearest to your destination - for free!
Yes, the beds are hard - but our hectic schedule during the day, we hardly felt it. I think it's also therapeutic for those have back problems
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
always ride the big hotel's free shuttle and the macao public bus is also cheap

The location of golden dragon is very good. it's very near the other 5 star hotels. It's also very near the port where you can find the various buses from different hotels.

Great experience - live up to expectation
- Located close to the ferry terminal
- Buffet breakfast
- Closely located to some tourist attraction
8.7
When we booked this hotel we were after a cheap accomodation with fantastic location and very clean room, and i must admit Golden Dragon Hotel is a very clean hotel, and it is located conviently near the wharf so it was easy to catch the ferry to Hong Kong which the hotel offered a free shuttle bus.
Also the buffet breakfast that the hotel offer is a mix of western and asian food which is fantastic if you like them both.
Overall the hotel is a basic clean hotel and i cant find anything wrong with it besides not having a gym or pool...but either way i enjoyed my hotel stay and would stay there again.

we stayed at the Golden dragon for 3 nights from aug 3-6, 2009. The stay was pleasant. check-in was quick. the staff was polite and very helpful.
bathroom was neat and the pillows were very soft..down feathers?
The room had a great view of the fisherman's wharf and of the macau harbor. Also conveniently located near the ferry and bus terminal. The hotel provides free shuttle service to different parts of the city. problem was, rain seeped thru the windows for 2 night. although, the staff was quick to respond and put towels to stop the leak, they didn't have maintenance fix it the following day. was just scared that the window would blow off outside.
Hotel has a casino on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
I just wished there was internet access inside the room.
Overall, the room was relatively cheap compared to the others in this area and room view.
Travel tip:
cheap eateries and a local chinese store along rue de malaca across the hotel

Golden Dragon is gold
Great value for money, 5 minute walk from ferry terminal, good Chinese restaurant
6.7
The biggest advantage of the Golden Dragon is definitely its proximity to the HK-Macau Ferry Terminal. When you arrive from HK by ferry, you can safely and easily get to the hotel on foot. This also makes it very easy should you want to hop on the other Casino shuttle bus services to visit the various casinos located all over Macau.
The Golden Dragon Hotel itself is clean, has a welcoming lobby and friendly and helpful front desk staff. The rooms are clean, of a reasonable size, and comfortable. We were "locked down" one night with a Category 8 typhoon blowing and it was the first time we were forced to look for somewhere to eat within the hotel. Being Chinese, we naturally chose the Chinese restaurant there - Dragon Palace. The staff barely greeted us at the door (not a plus), and the restaurant didn't look particularly welcoming. But we stuck with it and did not regret. The food more than made up for the lacklustre service, especially the quality and tase of the soups. The portions were also very generous, the servings more than ample. I definitely recommend this restaurant to all future guests to the hotel, and of course the hotel itself.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The hotel runs an hourly shuttle bus to and from the ferry terminal so check the timetable to co-ordinate your plans. If you miss the shuttle, it's still only a short walk to the terminal anyway, but not much fun if it rains!

Golden Dragon Hotel
Convenient to the ferry terminal, good service
10
The hotel staff is very polite and very helpful, fast and very efficient. The location is very convenient and easily accessible. The rooms are very clean, spacious and our room view is good even though that i did not request for a habour view window room. Beds are wide, solid and very comfortable, toilet admenities are replenished everyday and well maintained daily. The breakfast buffet spread is sumptuous with a wide range of varieties. I would like to stay there again cause it's really value for money and the service is so good plus the hotel security is very tight.

Macao is a city for gaming entertainment, I personally prefer a hotel which is silent and not busy and over populated, of course if I have the cash to spare I would go for Wynn, Four Season or Venetian, Golden Dragon is a affordable yet comfort stay in. everything is around you, from good food to shopping districts, all at very near vicinity. you may even try your luck at the small private casino under the same roof. The hotel is also very close by to Sands and the new Lisboa, you can do some shopping at Wynn if you opt for branded goods. the staff are friendly and hotel is very well kept even though is old. Value for money i would say.

Convenient to go to Ferry Terminal
This hotel is located within walking distance of the Ferry Terminal to Hong Kong.
6.7
From this hotel, it is easy to go to Ferry Terminal and Sans Casino (within walking distance). But if you go to main place for sightseeing (Senado Square etc.), you have to take cab or other transportation. The room was normal. Considering that this hotel is not so gorgeous, the price is not so reasonable.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Macau Fisherman's Wharf is just in front of the hotel.
