Golden Dragon Macau

Clean and tidy room.

Room is very nicely decorated and it's clean. Beds are really hard, which can be uncomfortable for people used to soft beds.
The location is not the best, but taxis and other public transportation works properly. It's also easy to reach city center by walking. The hotel is very close to the Ferry pier!
The Casino is not very impressive.
Breakfast is ok, but there's many chinese elements and not so many western options.
The receptionists may not speak English.

Golden Dragon is a decent hotel near the ferry building in Macau. I did not notice if they had a shuttle but its so close, I just walked to the hotel and did not bother looking for a shuttle. You can see the building from the ferry building. As others have noted, the beds are rock hard so unless u sleep on your back, I would recommend another hotel. But overall, a decent value for the price and I would probably go back.

Nice Hotel
Nice and Clean, Near ferry terminal

We're from venetian go to ferry terminal and walked from there to the hotel, it was so close about 10 min. hotel shuttle hard to find at the ferry terminal. Check in and check out are easy. The bed is hard. Lucky there're a taxi infront of the hotel in the morning because my flight is at 8.20 in the morning

This is a traditional Chinese hotel, nothing special. Located nearby the city center but not actually in it. Put in at least twenty minutes walk to get to MGM, Lisboa. The room has expensive in room bar. I don't think it's worth the money and other deals can be found in the city as there is an abundance of choices.
Shopping Tip:
ICBC ATM does not take foreign ATMs.

Not as I expected
I really have difficulty in writing something positive as I would not book this hotel again, not because I have had a bad experience but simply becaus e I'm not the type of customer taht this hotel is trageting. harrassed

Overall, we disliked the hotel. The staff was not very pleasant and can reach the level of rudeness . We had a bad feeling when doing the check-in which prevailed until the check –out day. Is definitely not a hotel in which I will stay next time I travel to Macau and if going as a couple the night club is to be avoided , is clearly a gents night club. Maybe somehow this should be part of the hotel information as it will avoid disappointments at the arrival. Customers are not harassed but are simply not comfortable for families. If I had this information while booking, I had chosen another hotel.
The room is simple but OK and clean. For those who like to sleep in soft or medium soft mattresses , the mattress was very hard, like if sleeping on the floor.
I have not tried the restaurant, breakfast or even bar because the environment does not invite for such.
The casino environment is equally not pleasant and most of the existent games played are part of the Asian gambling culture. If looking for a casino “LA” style, this is not the place to go.

Golden Dragon Hotel
Nice big std non smoking room, close to ferry terminal 10 min walk, easy 10 min walk to MGM and Wynns Casino. Good breakfast included in our stay. Great value !

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We walked from the ferry terminal, although a little awkard crossing the road and going up and down the stairs it was only 10 mins. There is a hotel shuttle if you want to wait for it. Hotel check in was quick and easy and our std twin non smoking room was big, clean and quite nice. Location is great easy walk to other big casino hotels, Sands, Starwood, Wynns, MGM and Grand Lisboa. Great value hotel compared to the larger hotels.
Travel tip:
Taxis are cheap if you do not want to walk.

Big room space for family. Good hospitality from hotel staffs with their good place recommendation. Many food varieties near the hotel with reasonable price. Difficult to go into the city. Unfortunately, there is Casino out of service during our stay that made bad feeling to our group. Shuttle bus was small for carrying all tourist at one time and waited for every 20 minutes that took long waiting.

We found the Golden Dragon in a very easy to get to ,position, walking distance from the Ferry terminal,staff very friendly, food great. We had 2 rooms both on 16th floor, therefore we had a fab view, would recommend, we would stay there again.The casino was fun. Everything was sparkling clean. Thanks heaps.
Shopping Tip:
Asked staff at front desk, who wrote the shopping street for taxi on back of their business card. We then had no problem with the language.

The elevators are very slow and requires patience. The hotel room/facility is kept reasonably clean and well-maintained. The bed is quite hard/stiff, and thus requires attention when staying at the hotel for the first time.
