I went with my girlfriend for a weekend getaway to Macau. Wanting a luxury experience we thought we’d try out the new Grand Hyatt on the Cotai Strip, above the City of Dreams. While we did not go to the Casino, the hotel and its surroundings were very pleasant. Overall a very spacious room, wonderful facilities and great location. A few little things let them down, but overall highly recommended if you want to spoil yourself.

The room was beautiful, new, clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is part of the City of Dreams comprising of Crowne Plaza Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel. Despite being in Taipa Island instead of Macau, the free shuttle services provided by the hotel served to be very convenient. They provide free shuttle buses from the airport to hotel, hotel to Taipa City, Venetian and MGM Grand. Waiting time of the shuttle service was 5-10 mins.
Overall, I would stay at the Grand Hyatt Macau again in my next visit.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
A must watch is the free Dragon's Treasure show at the City of Dreams. It is spectacular.

My three days in Macau

Well, it was rainy when we arrived in Macau. We were hopeful for some nice weather but alas it rained every day. I have been to Macau at least 10 maybe 8 but it has never been clear or sunny at any time. Mostly rain. There was a shuttle between the the Venetian and the Hyatt. The Hyatt didn't have much to do and the food court was retro Chinese so we spent most of our time in other casinos. I would recommend the Sands as the entertainment was very nice and seafood buffet was excellent along with the 88 HKD all you can drink wine bar. The next best place was the MGM Grand. I have stayed there a number of times and the open air atrium is amazing. They actually have live parrots in cages throughout the atrium. Anyway, I could go on and on. But in summary I recommend the Grand Hyatt. Everyone is nice there and we had a very romantic and relaxing time.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Hotel had a shuttle to other casinos. Starbucks at the Venetian. Good gym at the hotel.

This hotel no doubt lives up to its expectations and satisfied every single minor details of our stay. The staff were very courteous, the rooms were neck to neck to the Venetian Macau. I would definitely visit this hotel again.

We had virtually no information on Macau when we arrived. The hotel staff was very helpful and hospitable at every encounter and gave good advice for our transportation options. In particular, the manager of the Mezza9 Restaurant, Roberto, demonstrated exceptional service when he helped arrange for our breakfast after we misunderstood the restauraunt hours. (I believe he also recognized the hotel's shortcoming of limited dining options.) The critizism we raised was the lack of dining choices at the hotel and attached mall/casino. The center has been open for less than one year and in typical fasion for this part of the world it is 'open' but not 100% operational. Note, the Mezza9 restaurant is modeled after the one in Singapore - excellent food prepared in show kitchens around the dining room. The large bar off the main lobby seemed nice, but never appeared open during our stay.
The guestrooms are well appointed and very comfortable. We miss the beds!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The free shuttle bus to/from the airport as well as the shuttle to The Venetian and the historic center of Macau meant we didn't need to spend anything for transportation once we arrived in Macau.

Great New Hotel

Had to walk quite a bit to get to central shopping area in COD, and also the exit nearest to the Venetian. Food choices in COD was also well below those over at the Venetian
