excellent service, my kids were very happy with kid centre's Easter activities (need to pay). I was very enjoy their SPA while kids were staying at kid club! Hotel was old but kids love this hotel more than other newly 6 stars hotel! Kids are looking forward for their summer program.

The hotel is well suited for my family.

A classic hotel but reasonably well maintained and staffed by courteous and helpful staff. My requestfor a non smoking room with King bed are met. The room size is big and well equipped and maintained. The breakfast is sumptous and set in a pleassant and relaxed atmosphere. Moving around is easy and convenient as there are buses to shuttle us to various locations free of charge. It is a value for money stay.
I would recommend it to my friends.

A rustic family hotel

The decor of the hotel is a bit old, doesn't feel like a Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room also looks bit old fashioned but bed is really comfortable. Lots of playing area for kids such as a kids playground, mini golf course, rock climbing wall, and a great big outdoor pool with water slides.

Convenient. Nice and helpful staff. The pool and water slide are fun and good. However the rooms are a bit old and need renovation otherwise won't be competitive against other options at this price level. Would be good to have more active promotion on their dinning facilities.

Great service at resort and front desk

Wanted a couple of days out of Hong Kong, the Grand Lapa was suggested by a friend with a young kid.
Check in was painless, both the woman working the desk as well as the manager were extremely helpful. Same for checkout. Gave us both an early check in and a late check out.
The staff at the resort were also very good. The lifeguards, staff working around the pool and the manager of the "resort"- all very helpful. Can't forget the kids club staff (2 hours per day included).
Only complaint would be the service at the cafe on the second floor - was terrible. Food took forever to arrive and service was poor. You would be better off ordering lunch from poolside and ordering room service for breakfast. There are two other restaurants in the hotel we did not try. Ended up walking a few minutes to eat dinner outside the hotel grounds.
Even though two people were just killed at the hotel this past weekend, that won't stop me from going back. You would think prices would be lower after something like murders in the hotel, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
A shame about the service at the cafe as just about everything else was great (for the price).

was there with my family.. the location is ok, but the traffic is a bit disappointed. The swimming pool is nice! Buffet is great only a bit over price but it's ok as the oyster are so so fresh :)
Staffs are really nice only it's an old hotel.. can't expect too much but a bit over price ... maybe I booked in last minute...

Great service and good for family with young kids

We were traveling with our 8 month old son to Macau. And we mainly want to be away from the crowd and we are not interest about casino. Macau is nearby HK that can give us this treat, hence we choose a hotel that has also the resort like facilities. I was impressed by the hotel decoration. Unlike the grant and modern entrance of most of the hotel in Macau, this one has its colonial, oriental design in the lobby, and the people are so friendly and willing to help us for any circumstances. The resort includes pool, spa, kids playground, mini golf...etc. Good enough for a small family that just want to relax. We will definitely come back and recommend this to our friends who has family as well.
