Good location, very close to senado square.

Room not so big.

Nice location, only 5 minutes walk to Senado square. Though it looks not so new, the room was clean and the staffs were very attentive. It's easy to find restaurants around the hotel. Also, the ones who love gambling, there are many popular casino in that area.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Close to Senado square

in a centre area , easy to go to Senado Square

hotel staff and hotel itself.

we reserved the room for 2nites (21 - 23 Jun) . checked in quite late as spent time at Venetian, we found the room have very bad smell but still cool ourself that it might be better after turn on the aircon. It's the twin room and bed's rather small. First night passed with no complaint because we 're very exhausted. We went for sightseeing and came back in the afternoon to find that the room cannot opened. We went down to reception who told us that because we went to casino that made our card can't use??? However, found out later from the key pack that reception marked the date of our stay to 21-22 Jun. Which meant this room was checked out . Reception did something to have us use the key card but refused to accept that it's their false, kept saying that it's now working. If we felt bad at the first night, second day was even worse with the way reception handled situation. Next morning(almost 11am), we had Dim Sum in hotel restaurant, the food were ok but waitress rarely spoke English and not even try to find someone who can speak. We can just ordered some with no recommendation or any help from hotel staff at all.

Quick check in, quite hassle free. Great location for budget hotel as what I have read from previous reviews before deciding on staying here. It's within walking distance to Ruins of St Peter and near Major Casinos(Wynn,Lisboa, etc). You can get quick bites from restaurants around. Suggest that you try the Tim Sum they serve at 2nd flr. not bad.

My Room at 6th floor has got a a nasty mouldy smell and you can forget about using the wardrope as they are really old. Not forgetting that it's a budget hotel really..the room is still clean and the bathroom is really clean and hot water for shower is good. Noise is a little problem for pple who wakes up late due to the renovation. Guess it will be good after the reno is completed.

Would recommend for budget travellers who are not fussy about the interior. If you are looking for a place to stop over for a couple of days before heading somewhere else and still would like to have a clean place to stay plus a good location for your day visit around. This is the place. Not recommended for family as the place doesn't look safe enough. Well, we cant expect guards standing at entrance for budget hotel right?

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : 10 mins walk to the nice streets leading to Ruins of St Peter[1]. Highly recommend to visit Museum of Macau which is located just beside [1].

Close to Grand Lisboa where shuttle buses are availbale

Staff not helpful, shower broken

We had some Chinese friends write the address for us in characters and then were able to get to the Metrople easily in a taxi from the airport. The cost was about 70 Macau dollars. The hotel is close to the Wynn casino and the Grand Lisboa where you can take a shuttle bus to the ferry terminal for free. The room was really small and shabby and the staff not particularly helpful. Breakfast is not included in the price

Restaurant Tip : McDonalds is just around the corner and breakfast can be had there

Shopping area, Hotel location

Smoking in the hotel

There was the second time at this hotel, Metropole. This time i went arond the hotel for shopping. It's very near New Yaohan Department Store. I walked around Senado Square, there are many sport shops around there. I've got a nice football jersey and a good sport shoes. I've had a presanted trip in Macau. Before you leave from from, don't forget to eat a wonderful egg tart. It'll make you fell good to eat it.

location, location, location, competent and friendly reception staff

construction work, cockroaches everywhere (room 610)

The location at the Avenida de Praia Grande allows to visit absolutely everything (except the Taipa island venues) by foot which is a big advantage. The hotel itself is functional, albeit has seen its best days already which is reflected in the price. Renovation is going on since April 14th which makes staying at the room during the day "difficult". Another draw back is, that the place is cockroach infested; the PestControl people would have a field day. We did not bother too much though but its an unnecessary plague.

Restaurant Tip : Opposite is an excellent Portuguese restaurant, try the lamb chops or the sole.

Convenient location. English speaker on the front desk.

This hotels internet is incredibly expensive!

A very standard hotel. Beds were a little tough and sheets seemed slightly damp to the touch. But room was clean and included all the standard amenities you would expect. Price was ok for the area, though if I return I will probably spend a little extra on a nicer hotel.

bathroom is clean

there were some stuff inside the room that seemed to belong to previous occupant - rubbing alcohol bottle, safety pin

The hotel is a reasonably priced accomodation, with clean bathrooms, standard facilities. Would be better if the staff are a bit friendlier, and would be able to communicate better in English. Would be helpful if they could also inform guests of the availability of shuttle buses, for transportation to and from the hotel, to other hotels and/or spots in Macau.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I learned thru my friend that when they stayed in Holiday Inn last month, the front office personnel were very helpful in informing them where to go, what places to visit, and value-for-money restaurants

Good Location.

Not so clean. Our toilet was flooding. Mattress is hard.

Service is not good. We were at the lobby waiting for your companions and I was asking for a chair for my Mom to sit since all their chairs were already taken. The reception just simple said he couldn't give one when there were a lot of empty chairs inside their restaurant which is just beside the lobby.

Location Hotel bus to ferry terminal

There are many people smoking in the hotel

There are two reasons that i chose this hotel. First, Location of the hotel is very good to go around Macau sach as Senado Square, St. Poul and Macau Towel. Second, There are many food shops and restaurants that nears the hotel. I think if i come to Macau again i'll choose this hotel for sleeping.

Very good location; just round the corner from the "famous" square; shuttle bus from hotel to ferry terminal.

Staff at reception was not overly friendly...

On arrival I presented the hotel voucher from Agoda, but the booking couldn't be traced. The one guy tried to ask me whether I made the reservation that day, and was quite taken aback when I said no. The two men at the counter were talking in Chinese, totally ignoring me, and the form that I had to sign was just shoved under my nose, without a word spoken. I really felt guilty of something but I couldn't figure out what I was guilty of! After the first night in a room on the 7th floor, I requested to be moved to another room because on the one side of the room was the noisy street, and on the 8th floor there was some renovations going on with hammering that went right through my whole being (OK, the hammering only started in the morning, but when you want to sleep in, and after you requested on your booking form "a room in a quiet area of the hotel", hammering is not acceptable). I moved to a room on the 5th floor, but had to wait till after 2 pm, and even then the room wasn't ready, so more waiting was to come... The room was clean, bed was very hard (like all/most beds in China are), not even complimentary water in the mini-bar, and a long list of TV channels of which only about 4 did not have a "scrambled image". And even in that room, far away from the street, I was still aware of the building noises. At that stage I said to myself that had I known about the renovations, I would not have booked a room there. I did not visit any restaurant in the hotel, but they must be good because there were usually lots of people coming and going into and out of the restaurants when I was somewhere near the lobby. In the end the stay was OK, mainly because of the location of the hotel: near to everything worth seeing.
