boutique hotel on the beach, a nice getaway
far away from all the casinos, nice clean rooms with cute decor
8.7
This hotel is perfect if you want to get away all the casions and just want to have a relaxing weekend. It is walking distance from Coloane village. The only downside is the breakfast which is so so but otherwise it is really enjoyable. The roof terace with the view to the beach is a great place to relax. Staff are generally helpfull. Rooms are clean and big.
People who visit this hotel are going there to relax so it is really peaceful. I have been here twice and would go there again.
Restaurant Tip:
Walk down to Coloane, the restaurant in the central where the porugese temple is great! It is a much better value and taste than the hotel.

Good scent and service with lovely room
Good decoration, good foods, good service
8
We arrived Macau and took a taxi tour from the pier to 3 attracting locations, and arrived at the hotel late evening.
On our first step, a hotel staff was a handy man, lead us to a small reception area. The good scent starts from there and around the hotel.
The room is beautiful, with a big jacuci in the bathroom.
We had a big dinner at the restaurant, good steak we had.
And they also provided free ABF to you as well :)

Intimate hotel with great view on small beach
Sea-facing balcony, restaurant terrace
8
This is the second time we've stayed here. Like a Portuguese pousada. Good service: staff gave us a free jug of milk to make tea at 11pm (Chinese tea/instant coffee with creamer provided in room). Buffet breakfast fine, but tables not laid outside on terrace. Pool lovely -- but watch out for the kids. If you like casinos, this get-away-from-it location is probably not for you.
Travel tip:
Don't worry about getting taxis. The road above the hotel has regular buses (they accept Hong Kong money) taking you around Coloane to Coloane village (Lord Stowe's bakery, Esapaco Lisboa restaurant and Cantonese restaurants in main village), to Fernando's restaurant on Hac Sa beach, and further to Taipa and the main part of Macau.

Lovely setting
Peaceful retreat from Macau's casinos
9.3
A lovely, old fashioned hotel!
Don't expect all the swish bits and pieces we have come to expect from our city hotels. This is definitely a little, quaint hotel in a beautifully peaceful setting. Perched high up over looking the bay, our room was just as the website described it. Old fashioned Portuguese style but there was a mini bar and a balcony and the bathroom had a jacuzzi, but no stand up shower.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool was gorgeous, the restaurant offered a great choice of dishes and the surrounding countryside beautiful!
A great place if you don't want to stay in the heart of Macau's gambling land. Public transport was very regular and cheap. We explored all the beaches and local sights from this lovely hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Eat at Fernando's just along the coast. Superb, but get there by 11.45 or you will have to queue! It's reputation is justified.

A real break away from casino and crowd in Macau
The only hotel next to the beach in Macau

- Transportation is convenient, 10 mins by buses from outside Venetian and each time I waited less than 10mins.
- 1 min to beach.
- Jecuzzi in room and pool

Quiet but a little run down
7
we wanted to visit macau but stay away from the casinos - this is definitely away from all that. there is a bus stop up the stairs near the pool which you might rather take because getting a taxi out this way is a bit difficult at times. the rooms, the dining area, and pool have all suffered quite a bit of wear and tear but it is a nice view for macau.
i would suggest asking for a room on a high floor as you'll get more privacy.
Restaurant Tip:
Fernando's. Casual setting with fantastic food. One good point of this hotel is that it's one of the few close to this restaurant.

small boutique hotel with nice and friendly staff
8.3
Oldish Portguese style boutique hotel with nothing much around, except a small beach nearby with few eating places. The beach is popular among locals, but there were a few undomesticated dogs there and it was a bit scarry. Need to catch taxi/bus if one wants to extend activities. Taxi costs over M$100 each trip going to Macau Proper. Can walk to Coloanne township for about 20 minutes, with close view over China across a narrow channel of river.
The hotel is good for quiet relaxation, provides free English local newspapers. The swimming pool is small but looks good. The hotel restaurant was not overly priced with good food. There was this Mozambique Food Festival when we were there.
The hotel room is spacious with 2 bottles of water provided. But could do with the provisions of face paper tissues, soap for hand washing and better lighting. The sliding doors of the balcony were not working well. The large jacuzzi bath tub appears impressive, but the shower attached was not easy to use because water could run down the edge of the bath-tub and wet the floor. Need to bring mosquito repellant.
Overall, may stay there again because of its tranquility, could hear the sound of sea waves from the room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If one is to stay in Macau for long and need travelling on bus, it is better to get the Macau Card (similar to the Octopus card as in HK) from 7-11 etc (costing M$100 which can be topped up and M$30 deposit)for paying petty expenses and save half the cost on bus.

The place is very nice, remote from Casino areas. So if you want to forget about Casino, this is very nice place.

Lovely location, but a little tired
The quiet beach is just a few minutes away

this hotel is very differnt from most hotels in macau - and that is the main attraction. quiet, no casino, mainly expats, europeans or hong kong chinese.
the rooms are fine - you can just about hear the waves lapping the shore from the balcony.
bathroom is ok - but a proper shower would surely have been a better idea than a jacuzzi!
breakfast is fine - not a great range but it's adequate.
the pool is ok - but most of it is 2m deep - only a very small area is 1 metre.
finally beware of mosquitoes by the pool at dusk - they are everywhere!
Travel tip:
If you want to use the jacuzzi, make sure to fill with water before you turn on the jets!
