surroundings is beautiful and silent but very near to city, if you like to spend time on walking, nearby is ma kok temple, Yauhan dept store, has shuttle bus to center part, clean and good room. insufficient facilities such as eatery and entertainment. It is an old fashioned 5 star hotel. Although the room is not like those new hotels, which is grand and elegant, but Riviera provides clean and over average room environment. In addition free upgrade to a sea view room when available. The main point is that the price is very low. However, you may be a little bit disappointed when you are hungry and want to eat something immediately. This hotel can't provided such kind of service or nearby (need to walk 10 minutes) having few choice.
Restaurant Tip : the hotel Chinese restaurant open at noon on weekdays and weekend, open a little bit earlier on Sunday. So it is better to have breakfast outside.

reception, transfer form and to center city and ferry We stay in River only for 1 night. We stay very well. We had a very clean suite and paid 50 euro.We had the bedroom with a big bed and two TV (one for normal programs and one for hot video) and one bathroom and a studio with another little bathroom (and again two TV). The hotel arranges free of charge transfer from hotel to 6 important site of the city each 30 minutes from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Very comfortable.

typical staff of 2 star hotel. far away from town , there is no shuttle bus stop, made difficult to find the hotel bus at the ferry. Hotel is small and dirty as well as restaurant. I ordered coffee by room service. they served me instant coffee. When I complained they changed to blend coffee. Staff were not friendly, not helpful, did not pay attendtion to guest problems, They do not have service mind. Hotel far from town. Need to take taxi better take taxi cost to pay hotel in town. have to pay for internet access even have computer.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : lake view was nice

Away from city, peaceful place to stay. Very comfortable room. Nothing much around the hotel Walking down the hill is the lake, it is a beautiful place and relaxing to be at. Quite a distance to other places, walked to Ah Ma's Temple from hotel. It will be good if there are services bring guest to places of interests.

Hotel good situated in abt 1km from city center and close to famous Macao Tower.Very friendly and helpful staff-speaking English.This is very important in China. Good restaurants inside the Hotel.I especially prefer buffet dinner. Rooms are mid sized but clean and luxury furnished.Beds in twin room are big and comfortable.Hotel rates are very reasonable to overall quality.I recommend this Hotel.

It is very cozy and nice for a very competitive price via Agoda.
Its location is pretty good too. I had wanted a Double-bed room. However they ran out of these rooms and gave me a Twin-bed instead. But I did got a non-smoking room as I had requested. Oh, Riviera should really indicate their policy of a 500 MOP deposit requirement on their web pages. Or via email to customers. The location is actually not bad, even though most web pages would put Riviera's accessibility to only 2 buses. In fact, via a short walk, one can get to another bus stop slightly downhill, and that stop has many buses serving.
The view of Macau Tower (especially at night) from Riviera is also awesome.

Tranquility.
Free room promotion.
Traffic is not very convenient.
It's not considerable to charge on water, it will be nicer if it's free.
Shuttle doesn't stop on the main street. I will grade it maybe four star.
it overall is fine.
I like its tranquil and scenic view at night
but it's also a problem
every time I have to pull my hurt legs to go there.
I am not familiar with the bus system so I got to reach there by walk.
so its location becomes a defect
the environment is good and safe for a single female traveler.
it provides free room upgrade that's very surprising and considerate.
Restaurant Tip : you have to bring enough food or be sure that you won't get hungry at midnight but you don't either want to eat what they offer.

An excellent view, friendly receptionist, clean and tidy rooms I like this hotel because all the receptionists are friendly and the most important they can speak English very well, so it is very helpful for guest like us which can not speak Chinese as well as Cantonese.

The hotel staff can't speak English very well and not friendly.
Location of the hotel is not convenient to the city center. Though there is a free shuttle that picks the guest from the hotel going to the city but only until 10pm. After 10pm you will have to find your own transport to get back to the hotel.
I didn't enjoy my stay at Riviera. The guests who stayed in the other rooms are too noisy. Walking on the corridor with a loud voice, like shouting at each other. They don't consider the other guests who are still sleeping.

Size of the rooms!. Only 4 levels. It is clean and tidy. Excellent view. The rooms are very good size and the view is one of he best you can get in Macau. After we came back from Hong Kong to check in again they gave us the largest suite they had, for the same price, it was amazing! 2 bathrooms, 2 LCD HDTV 42", living room, 2 balconies... damn it was good.
I would go back there but as the location is not as good as the others located nearby the casinos... I think I will look for another one also owned by RITZ.
The hotel is located pretty far from everything, although Macau is quite small and you can go almost everywhere by foot, the hill to get get to Riviera is really annoying. The hotel used to be a 5 star hotel, but now they dont have what they used to have such as tennis court, golf, business centre, etc...the restaurant is quite expensive, we only had breakfast one day and it wasn't that good for the high price.
It also has a shuttle bus to go to the ferry terminal, to the city centre and to the other RITZ hotels in Macau.
Hotel Feature Tip : Try to catch the shuttle bus if you are going to the city... is free!
