Great location. swanky neighborhood. Ask for city view.... pretty nice.
Dated place, needs some decor help
The Rivera is an alright hotel in a good neighborhood. Multi-million dollar homes from what I understand. It is farily close to the city as well. The bed and pillows could also be updated/upgraded.

Perfect location. Nice view. Hotel staff fluent in English
Room a little bit old smell
When you stay in this hotel, make sure you book the SEA VIEW room. This room have balcony which has very beautiful view to the Macau Tower and Highway Road. The hotel has free shuttle every 30mins to the town. Definitely will be back to this hotel
Restaurant Tip : When you like to eat, there is very nice portuguese restaurant just about 100m called Restaurant Ali. The food is very delicious and price reasonable. You should try it!

Clean & calm
See view at night is good
Shuttle is seldom and not good route
I wsa staying one night on Saturday. its location is not working distance for anywhere. Even there is shuttle every 30 minutes, the route is not short cut and moving around. It was clean and good room and I got a good night view room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Macau tower and bridge view

Quiet, comfortable & roomy
Difficult to communicate with the hotel staff
Very nice hotel to stay for the price, as the location is a bit isolated.
Had a very difficult time to communicate with a hotel staff in English: as far as the subject is a usual one, the staff would not have any difficulty, but if you need to ask and/or explain something in English, the staff may not understands you as you wished to be understood.

Hotel is situated at a gentle slop making the view on the surrounding area very special and breathtaking especially the hotel facing towards the sea
The plants in the room had not been watered for a while
The information counter at the Macau ferry terminal informed that there was no free shuttle to the hotel when we enquire on where to proceed for the pick-up and we ended up having to que for a taxi and managed to get one after an hour wait. We were very happy though when we finally managed to check in at 7.30 pm that the hotel had upgraded us to a suite room facing the sea where we have a stunning view of the macau tower and the bridge leading to the airport. The night view and the next day view from the hotel is really a beautiful sight to behold. We had a very good night sleep and a well deserved rest. Will definitely stay here again in future and will pass on the words to our friends.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A church just behind the hotel and a walk there is worth it just for the view

The hotel is old but not the kind that will give bad vibes. I like the location as it is away from the city and very peaceful and quiet.
Hotel also has a Western restaurant that serves quite good food. hotel also have a Chinese one but I didn't try it.( Hello the whole Macau has more than enough of these and many more in Zhuhai).
They have a shuttle bus that take guest to the city but only to locations next to their sister hotels and the ferry terminal. Macau is so small so that is good enough for most travellers to hop on and then get down and walk to their destinations which I believe are all the major casinos. This shuttle bus is good for that.
Not much of service but anyway most hotel in Macau are like that.
The front desk charges me for the two bottles of water that were in the room. All hotel I had stayed provide these for free. Only those in the mini bar are chargeable. That no good.
The hotel is more for tour group which when they come in will be crowd and noisy.
Overall I believe I will go and stay there again as the rates are reasonable (but have to check as some sites charges more for this hotel).
Sometime I feel it better to stay here than the hotel in the city or those with casino as they can be noisy at the wrong time of the day, I mean night - you know what I meant.
Try to get room that faces the sea - not a fantastic view but better than looking out to nowhere. You see the Tower and the bridges that link the two island of Macau.
Enjoy your stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can exactly take a walk from the hotel and sightsee Macau all the way to the famous front wall of St. Paulo.
No worry you can never get lost in Macau - only make sure you have a simple tourist map with you and better to able to communicate in Cantonese. The map take a little getting use to for Singapore like me though.
Happy sightseeing..... opps you are only interested in the casino. So take the shuttle and it will get you to all the big ones but need to walk to them - within 3 minutes of slow walk.

Great location in a quiet neighbourhood but only a 10 minute walk from the old centre.
Very good service from the staff on this (my 2nd stay) visit. The first time I visited I wasn't as impressed.
Rooms decent but certainly not outstanding.
Great location in a quiet neighbourhood but only a 10 minute walk from the old centre. Particularly liked the pleasant waterside area just down the hill & the church on top of the hill behind the hotel.
Very good service from the staff on this (my 2nd stay) visit. The first time I visited I wasn't as impressed.
Rooms decent but certainly not outstanding, rather jaded in places.
Was upgraded to a room at the front of the hotel on my 2nd visit which was a BIG plus.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : relax by the sea just down the hill from the hotel & watch people bungy-jump from the Macau Tower

hotel condition is bit old
the hotel is a bit overpriced. the view is great, but the room conditions are a bit disappointing. it is a little run down, needs improvement. the lobby is a bit old too.
the restaurant is noisy. the food is not good, but price wise is not expensive either.
unlikely to visit this hotel again at this price range unless significant changes are made. there a many fronts the hotel can make some improvements.
Travel tip : great place to enjoy the nightlight of Macau

Awesome view! Nice quiet area of the city. Close to the action. Easy cab ride from all major points in the area. 15 minute walk from the first round of high end casinos (wynn, lisboa, etc.)
Benefits...(Pool, casino, etc.) The breakfast was unexciting.
Our experience was an overall excellent one. Usually we stay in Taipa, but this time we wanted to stay on the peninsula and it didn't disappoint. Our room was very clean and roomy, we had a great view of the western bridges connecting Macau to Taipa, and a great view of the Macau Tower. The only downside was the breakfast. It was average at best. However, the kindness and helpfulness of the staff was great! My wife and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Hotel Feature Tip : Excellent old area of Macau. The hotel is on the side of a small hillside and it is located in a great, quiet area to take a walk and look out over some of the city.

1.Very nice view
2.Room is good value for price
1.staff doesnt speak much english
2.food is hard to get. you cant room order past a certain time.
3.housekeeping will everytime refer you to frontdesk inorder to understand what you need
The hotel was okay except for hard access to food at certain hours and the poor english proficiency. The staff seemed to be very friendly and accomodating but because of the language barrier it didnt do us much good. the problem it seems is a national problem, if you want someone to understand you, approach gradeschoolers.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : ama temple and the famous A Lurcha resto is walking distance from this place. view of the sea and macau tower is also quite extraordinary and made the stay positive.

Clean with big room.
Friendly staff.
Fast check-in time.
Good scenery of Macau tower.
Free shuttle bus service.
Far from the city.
Breakfast not so tasty.
The shuttle bus is infrequent service.
The Hotel is clean, big room and has friendly staff with fast check in time. They upgraded my room to the suite one with a good scenery of Macau tower for free.
They have the free shuttle bus that run every 30 mins. but the last shuttle bus was at 10 pm, so you have to take the taxi (that's not easy to find from the hotel since it's far away from the city center)
Breakfast is not so tasty but not so bad.

Free from the city hassle, clean comfortable room and without Casino
Main Entrance not as grand and No shuttle bus to and from Gongbei customs
Although not a big hotel but the location is good, bed is comfortable and without casino. Lucky to stay in the seaview room, convenient to city center with the shuttle service provided in every half an hour. Dim Sum provided from 9.30am to 3pm at afforable price. Overall a good hotel in Macau for those who need a good night sleep and rest.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Close to Macau Main Spots

A litter far from downtown
The hotel is located in mid-level with magnificent sea view. It is right before a lake and the Macau Tower. Though it is a little bit far from downtown, it provides free shuttle bus service to downtown/ferry pier every 30 minutes. As a whole it is a good choice in terms of price and service.
