location, good rooms, hospitable staff
little difficult to locate it from ferry terminal, if you need to go anywhere then depend on the shuttle services
location is nice, hotel rooms are well furnished, decent facilities, all in all good package for the amount spent on the rooms. the Hotel staff is quite hospitable and is willing to help out the guests.tried the Ala carte breakfast, the qty was not sufficient.they have decent shuttle service to connect you to the main city, though you need to share it with some other hotels
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : just take a walk out side the hotel area towards the lake in the night time, its pleasant.

Older style hotel, not close to anything.
The hotel is a bit old and situated up on a hill. It is not close to anything so you will need to catch a shuttle or taxi to get to town. I have an older style room which is in need of an upgrade. The view of Macau tower is blocked by fog during the time of my stay

Queit, relaxing and away from the Casinos (Up on a hill).
The Seaview (with the Macau tower)was very nice.
Friendly staffs.
Free upgrade.
Quite a distance from the town. About 20min stroll (with a slope).
The hotel is situated up on a hill. So, the environment is queit, relaxing and away from the Casinos (Up on a hill). Good for those who want a good nite's sleep. The Seaview (with the Macau tower)was magnificent.
I was upgraded for free to a bigger room with seaview for the price of the standard room (without seaview).
The staffs were friendly and helpful.
If you want to take the Taxi to the Hotel, you better print the Chinese name of the hotel as the cab driver may not know the english name of the hotel.
There is a shuttle service provided till 10pm at night, which operates between the hotel and the ferry terminal every half hourly.
Overall, I would say the hotel is good value for money.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Can take the Hotel shuttles provided by the other hotels to visit the various casinos for free.

very big bed and very nice sea view. very nice food.
no transportaion from the hotel to either airport or jetty.
it is a very nice hotel. however, transportaion is not that convenient because it is uphill. we have to take the free ride to other hotels, and take the other hotel's free shuttle to the airport/ from the jetty. prepare lots of cash because u need 500 for deposit. we were there for 1 night and we only brought 1k. thus, half of it went to the deposit. but overall its nice.
Hotel Feature Tip : take the hotel's free ride to other hotels. and from the other hotels, u can have a free ride to the jetty or airport. save $$. bring your map along as macau is quite small thus u can walk around by urself.

very nice view of Macau tower and taipa bridge.
if there is one, its only the transportation services. Taxi seldom pass at night. either you have to walk down and wait for 15-20 minutes before you can hail a taxi. they have service shuttle bus, but it doesnt cover the places you want to go.. i wanted to go to Wynn but the shuttle can only go as near as Lisboa and you have to walk from there to Wynn.
the hotel is located in a very nice hill. The room is clean. very nice feel of the old hotels. very nice view, you can see the Macau tower and the bridge. it was a quiet cozy place especially at night.tennis court is just a walk away (although i think you have to be a member to be able to play there. portuguese restaurant is just around the corner. Not so far from the ferry.

Quiet, very nice sea view, away from casino but convenience shuttles connecting city
The in-room facilities is old, no complimentary water
if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful weekend, that is a good choice, it is far away from the noisy and crowded city area or casino, however you still can go to the city in minutes by their shuttles. Walking distance to visit the old area and view the history parts of Macau. Better to book a seaview room for it is really a nice night view of Macau facing the TV tower and the bridge.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Close to the big church

Night scene very beautiful.
Room consider very big.
Bathroom comes with bathtub.
Big King size bed. Very comfortable.
A bit far from city.
Provide a free shuttle bus to city n jetty. But one of the driver is bad in attitude, not friendly.
This is my 1st time went to Macau. I book my Riviera Hotel room through Agoda website. I would proudly recomment Reiviera Hotel to those who dislike going to casino n love to enjoy romantic moment. U can enjoy a very beautiful night scene from your room through the big window with your loves one.
Restaurant Tip : There is a restaurant at the hotel lobby name Amigo. U can try out thier western food. Is quite yummy n value for $.

Spacious rooms with King size bed. Great view of Macau Tower. Free shuttle service to the town area. Nice and quiet.
Some distance from the town centre. Need to travel out for snacks.
The rooms are huge and came with a King size bed (other configurations are also available). The view of Macau Tower from the room was great. A 15mins leisurely walk will get you to the town centre. You can take in the view along the way and enjoy the cool weather (Oct/Nov). For those adverse to walking, the hotel provides free shuttle service to the town area (departs every 30 mins). The hotel's slight distance from the town centre makes it a nice quiet, but very comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended.
Travel tip : Skip the free shuttle service and take a leisurely walk down the slope and along the sea front to the town centre. Enjoy the cool breeze and scenery along the way. After shopping or a good meal, take the shuttle service back to the hotel to avoid climbing the slope with laden bags (or tummies !)

Great location. swanky neighborhood. Ask for city view.... pretty nice.
Dated place, needs some decor help
The Rivera is an alright hotel in a good neighborhood. Multi-million dollar homes from what I understand. It is farily close to the city as well. The bed and pillows could also be updated/upgraded.

Perfect location. Nice view. Hotel staff fluent in English
Room a little bit old smell
When you stay in this hotel, make sure you book the SEA VIEW room. This room have balcony which has very beautiful view to the Macau Tower and Highway Road. The hotel has free shuttle every 30mins to the town. Definitely will be back to this hotel
Restaurant Tip : When you like to eat, there is very nice portuguese restaurant just about 100m called Restaurant Ali. The food is very delicious and price reasonable. You should try it!

Shuttle is seldom and not good route
I wsa staying one night on Saturday. its location is not working distance for anywhere. Even there is shuttle every 30 minutes, the route is not short cut and moving around. It was clean and good room and I got a good night view room.

Quiet, comfortable & roomy
Difficult to communicate with the hotel staff
Very nice hotel to stay for the price, as the location is a bit isolated.
Had a very difficult time to communicate with a hotel staff in English: as far as the subject is a usual one, the staff would not have any difficulty, but if you need to ask and/or explain something in English, the staff may not understands you as you wished to be understood.

Hotel is situated at a gentle slop making the view on the surrounding area very special and breathtaking especially the hotel facing towards the sea
The plants in the room had not been watered for a while
The information counter at the Macau ferry terminal informed that there was no free shuttle to the hotel when we enquire on where to proceed for the pick-up and we ended up having to que for a taxi and managed to get one after an hour wait. We were very happy though when we finally managed to check in at 7.30 pm that the hotel had upgraded us to a suite room facing the sea where we have a stunning view of the macau tower and the bridge leading to the airport. The night view and the next day view from the hotel is really a beautiful sight to behold. We had a very good night sleep and a well deserved rest. Will definitely stay here again in future and will pass on the words to our friends.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A church just behind the hotel and a walk there is worth it just for the view

The hotel is old but not the kind that will give bad vibes. I like the location as it is away from the city and very peaceful and quiet.
Hotel also has a Western restaurant that serves quite good food. hotel also have a Chinese one but I didn't try it.( Hello the whole Macau has more than enough of these and many more in Zhuhai).
They have a shuttle bus that take guest to the city but only to locations next to their sister hotels and the ferry terminal. Macau is so small so that is good enough for most travellers to hop on and then get down and walk to their destinations which I believe are all the major casinos. This shuttle bus is good for that.
Not much of service but anyway most hotel in Macau are like that.
The front desk charges me for the two bottles of water that were in the room. All hotel I had stayed provide these for free. Only those in the mini bar are chargeable. That no good.
The hotel is more for tour group which when they come in will be crowd and noisy.
Overall I believe I will go and stay there again as the rates are reasonable (but have to check as some sites charges more for this hotel).
Sometime I feel it better to stay here than the hotel in the city or those with casino as they can be noisy at the wrong time of the day, I mean night - you know what I meant.
Try to get room that faces the sea - not a fantastic view but better than looking out to nowhere. You see the Tower and the bridges that link the two island of Macau.
Enjoy your stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can exactly take a walk from the hotel and sightsee Macau all the way to the famous front wall of St. Paulo.
No worry you can never get lost in Macau - only make sure you have a simple tourist map with you and better to able to communicate in Cantonese. The map take a little getting use to for Singapore like me though.
Happy sightseeing..... opps you are only interested in the casino. So take the shuttle and it will get you to all the big ones but need to walk to them - within 3 minutes of slow walk.

Great location in a quiet neighbourhood but only a 10 minute walk from the old centre.
Very good service from the staff on this (my 2nd stay) visit. The first time I visited I wasn't as impressed.
Rooms decent but certainly not outstanding.
Great location in a quiet neighbourhood but only a 10 minute walk from the old centre. Particularly liked the pleasant waterside area just down the hill & the church on top of the hill behind the hotel.
Very good service from the staff on this (my 2nd stay) visit. The first time I visited I wasn't as impressed.
Rooms decent but certainly not outstanding, rather jaded in places.
Was upgraded to a room at the front of the hotel on my 2nd visit which was a BIG plus.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : relax by the sea just down the hill from the hotel & watch people bungy-jump from the Macau Tower
