Overall is very good exp, location is a bit far from major locations, need to take bus or taxis. The shuttle bus is not very frequent, hard to get a taxi from hotel. But, the room is clean and big, value for money

The bathtub in the bathroom was leaking and aside from that, everything was fine. The shuttle bus to certain location was welcomed, and would be a great place to stay if you are more interested in the old macau than the casinos (though it is also walkable from the hotel).

It was nice to enjoy the local sights of Macau but yet still be relatively near to the Casinos to experience it as well. Shuttle service to the Ferry Terminal was great if you are leaving for Hong Kong, understand that there is one as well to the airport, so not to worry if you are coming in from there too.

Stay was good. Check-in earlier but rooms wasn't ready. Free shuttle bus was a plus point. The is a huge playground for kids outside the hotel. Adults can also try the workout equipment for exercising in the park. The is a restaurant and 7eleven next to the hotel. Senado square is like 15 minutes walk from the hotel.

Paid for extra bed which was not prepared but other than this, everything was fine. Lobby was well-lit and large enough to accommodate big check-in/check-out crowds. Half-hourly shuttles to ferry terminal were appreciated.

In my honest opinion being a frequent traveller, this Royal Hotel may be like a hidden gem in the haystack with good stars ratings hidden by the size and overall design. To me, it is actually the convenience in the location to places of interest and food of the hotel that offers the best value to first time or revisiting visitors coupled with the friendly staff are the most important features that will make any hotel a good hotel with a unique staying experience.
