Reasonably priced hotel with big rooms

We arrived at Royal Hotel from HK and as expected the staff were friendly and accommodating. We emailed the hotel earlier to inquire about transfers to and from the terminal and the guest services officer was kind enough to send all the details including the schedule of the shuttle. They also granted our request to give us two adjoining rooms which is important for us as we do not want to be separated from our children.
The Deluxe Twin rooms are huge coming from a standard hotel in HK.
The hotel is quite far from the center of attraction which is in Taipa but this is compensated by a shuttle service (one in the morning and another in the afternoon) or alternatively a shuttle to the ferry terminal and connect you to other hotels in Taipa. There are restaurants in the area but if you are the choosy type, you can take the shuttle which leaves every 30 minutes and bring you to your area of choice.

Transfer shuttle is available at ferry terminal but they do not have specific parking area or signage (arrive every 30 mins), guests can request for shuttle schedule from front desk.
The room was noisy when next door make noise. Hotel is far from big casino but we can take hotel shuttle to ferry terminal and connect to casino shuttle.
Staffs are nice and friendly.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Gaia Lighthouse is only 10 mins walk (up-hill) from the hotel.

First time in Macau, we spent three nights at the hotel.
If you looking for some place to have a quiet and smoke free hotel this is the place. however it quite far from all the casino.ld part of macau.. but if you want to take in a bit of culture, and walk around the sights and sounds of old macau.. this is ideal.Clean and everything you would want for a comfortable stay. doesnt have too many frills, but for the price, its very good value.Casinos are a short distance and taxis are always at hand. The Royal Hotel caters for large tour groups and as such has a lot of people coming and going. the location is at the top of the hill, a good 20 minute walk from Samdado Square, but close to the lighthouse and surrounding park. The reception arrangements, breakfast etc were fine, but the soundproofing ( particularly the hotel doors) is poor, so we were disturbed by people constantly checking in and out. For the pricem, it is a good hotel, but perhaps only for a few nights. This is an excellent choice for both sightseeing and Casino touring. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably well appointed. Location was good, not too far from the city for walking but far enough out to enjoy the views and surrounding area. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant and the restaurant meals are a must to try for those who enjoy Asian food, and reasonably priced. Communications with the Hotel staff could be better. We stayed in a Premier room, there are free drinks and nibbles at the Lounge bar for guests in these rooms from 4pm until 8pm, however we were not told about this until our last night. Overall it was a pleasant place to stay and we would definitely stay again.

Nice clean hotel for a good price!! The rooms were quite big, especially being in HK. There are restaurants and convenience stores that are very close to the hotel. it's nice to stay at a location where it's less congested. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody.

had a great experience at the hotel. checked in with no hassle, though could only get the room at 3pm. location was within walking distance of st paul's (15min), and staff were friendly to advise you on where to go and what to do in macau. good for travellers who don't intend to gamble in macau since there is no casino at their lobby.

this is the second time i stayed in this hotel. i like the quietness of the surrounding, away from the casinos and ideal for family with children. the hotel has shuttle bus services to ferry terminal and few tourist attractions (i.e. the venetians). it is walking distance to local residenial zone for tourist who like to experience a different kinds of macau sightseeing. lots of good eateries within walking distances. i will come back again.
Restaurant Tip:
Good eateries are within walking distance, like Margaret's Cafe e Nata egg tarts, Wong-kun noodles and Li-Ji traditional ice-cream.

After my stay last time, me and my family book this hotel again. The room and services are still good as ever. The only comment I want to make is about the shuttle bus to pier - every 30mins a bus! I think they can add one or two in between which makes it 15min a bus. Besides that, this hotel is definitely a good choice in Macau~
