Elegant Royal Hotel with Excellent Service
Elegance, Comfort, Service with Smile & Friendliness, Warm, Just AWESOME!
8.7
I was greeted by an elegant entrance upon arrival. I checked in at 3am, the staff was very sleepy but helpful and friendly. The deluxe room I stayed in was comfortable, clean and warm. I had a good view of the beautiful garden below and also the city of Macau. Overall, I had a really nice stay and the price I paid for was definitely worth it. It's not far from the place I wanted to go too which is the ruins of St. Paul, there are also streets and shops for shopping along the way. I would recommend this hotel to friends & families and would definitely stay here again if I visit Macau in the future :)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The ruins of St. Paul & the streets for shopping are just 10-15 mins walk away. Very convenient! There are small streets along the way, alot of things to see, explore & eat. Very convenient location!

Nice hotel, good location, terrible room
Location and quality of service and staff professionalism
8
We liked the hotel. Staff were great and when we complained about the noise at 4am, security came up to our room to deal with the situation. It was dealt with very professionally. We would consider returning to the hotel because of the location and staff, but request a different room.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Avoid any room which has an interconnecting door. Very noisy.

Good location but rooms are really cold
6.3
Good location for sight seeing but if you are into casinos, this hotel might not be the one. It is nice and cozy but my problem with it was that the room was really cold. I have the thermostat showing 30 deg c but the room is still like ice. Weather was real freaky at -1 on 1/1/2011 and that worsen things a bit.
Walking distance to Senado Sq and a quick shuttle bus or taxi ride to Lisbon/MGM/Wynn.
Restaurant Tip:
There is a street of small eateries and street vendors close to the hotel. It is kind of a back street and can be tricky to find. You will find local produce and street food cheaply but very delicious.

Good location, poor service
3.3
my memories of macau are shrouded in smoke, or at least the smell of it. our over-priced 'premier' room reeked of cigarette smoke, which the hotel staff seemed reluctant to acknowledge and disinclined to address. while remiss in attending to actual problems, hotel staff guarded the business center with their all, forcing members to find one of the sparse crew before using the computers. while this might seem extreme, one understands the hotel's position upon viewing the majestic business center and its two whole pc desktops. the investment in these two beauts precluded the hotel from investing in other fine machinery, but really, what more does one need than the reluctant hum of a pc past its prime?
to add to the enjoyment, nay, the privilege of staying in a 'premier' room was waiting endlessly for the elevator and visiting each floor on the long ride down from the 16th floor. naturally, the wait would have been shorter if one of the hotel's three elevators had been working, but they chose to fix one during its downtime (new year's break).

lovely hotel on hill top
Among the few 5 star hotels in Macau
8.7
Overall stay was good. Hotel staff very friendly. Full hotel amenities such as swimming pool and fitness center. Rooms were fabulous, no complaints at all. Toilet was abit old but very much bearable. Toiletries provided were good (Aigner brand). Only bad point was that we had to walk uphill each time we walked back to the hotel.

Lovely hotel in a quiet location
Within walking distance to centre. Friendly service and a small cosy casino in the hotel.
7.7
Nice clean rooms but no view in the two rooms we occupied. There's a small park in front of the hotel which is quite nice. The centre (walking area) is a nice 10-15 minutes walk away. Hotel shuttles are convenient to get to landmarks in the city and it's free.
The casino in the hotel is nice but unfortunately smoking is allowed. Indoor Pool not very interesting and good for laps.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Casino in the hotel does not accept foreign currency (only Macau and HK only) so if one plans to gamble (machines only), make sure you change outside.
There's a 7-Eleven by the hotel which is convenient for snacks/drinks 24 hours.

Great location away from the Casino's
Nice lobby. Good size rooms.

the hotel rooms were a decent size, clean and had a comfortable bed. the hotel is a little out of the way from the casino's, but we are really not into that anyway. in any case a short walk or taxi ride and i am sure you will find one of the fancy casino hotels. this hotel is perfect location if your planning on some sight seeing or shopping. i quite enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood.

Clean Hotel but very small rooms
very close to the local small restaurant
6.7
the hotel is ok but the size of rooms is too small, and not much food to chose from the breakfast buffet which is include in the room rates, one thing we like is the in- door swimming pool.

i didn't enjoy my time there, the service was the worst i ever experienced. the staff there treated you like you are 6 years old and the hotel is not customer-oriented but profit oriented.
Restaurant Tip:
there is a restaurant about 300 meter away from the hotel have the best noodle and congee. moreover the staff are the nicest people in macau. A++
