Good Hotel
Staffs are friendly and accomodating
9.7
The hotel has a free shuttle service with runs from the Hotel to the Macau Ferry Terminal every 30 mins. and it is really on time. The Staff and housekeeper are very friendly. The rooms got enough space for another extra bed, I especially like their king size bed and the interior design is very nice.

It's a good and clean hotel with an easy access to a lot of tourist and shopping area in Macau. Very convenient for the foods and shopper, you can find lots of restaurant & a lot of night life nearby. It's a centre location surrounded by many shop and restaurant within 10-15mins walking distance.

Modern Room, Helpful Staffs
9.7
The hotel was very good. They have a nice interior design, helpful and friendly staffs, they got mocha club (casino), walking distance to Senado Square, have free shuttle service to Macau Ferry Terminal and a lot more. Their breakfast buffet is good too.. lots of food to choose from. I would definitely book again with this hotel in the future. We are very satisfied with their service!

Nice Hotel
Clean and Comfortable beds
9.7
The room was so modern and they have complete facilities like the gym and swimming pool. Hotel lift was also sufficient and fast. Staffs were nice, friendly and helpful. Location is near senado Square, you could just walk for a couple of minutes to get there. 7-11 is just around the corner and some other restaurants is very accessible.

Professional service, renovated rooms are beautifu
professional staff, cleanliness, modern decor and amenities, in the heart of Macau

I've stayed at Hotel Royal many times now. This is definitely my choice of accommodation whenever I visit Macau. Sure, I can pay a lot more for other 5-star hotels in fancy casinos, by why both? This place is small, cozy, in a convenient location, has its own casino floor but it's not crowded and requires very little walking. Almost all the rooms are renovated, so you get your large LCD TV, fancy bathroom, bathroom robes, safe, fancy toiletries, good bed and bedding, plenty of storage room, good broadband internet (wifi on the top floors is VERY poor, however)... even the slippers are nicer than most hotels'! I've always received professional service from their staff, including online communication via email. They even upgraded me to the premier floor so I can use their wifi, but sadly, their wifi is super slow and is not reliable. Luckily, their wired broadband is fast and solid. Their breakfast is also nicer than most hotels' at this price. They offer a decent selection of both western and Asian food (think cereal and porridge/noodles). I'm already planning my next trip to Macau, and -- yup, you guessed it -- I'll be staying at Hotel Royal.

5-star hotel without the 5-star price
newly renovated, highly trained staff with professional service
9
My nephew booked a night at Hotel Royal for me. He raves about this hotel, and I can see why. This hotel has been around in Macau for many, many years. But now, you can't tell that it's an old icon, because they've renovated everything, including almost all the rooms (there's still some construction going on, but it's not bothersome). They put a lot of details in everything they do. Have you ever been to a hotel where the housekeeping actually wipes the bathroom glass with anti-fog, so you can still see yourself after a hot, steamy shower? Maybe at a very reputable, expensive 5-star hotel, which you'll pay plenty for. Some people dispute the star rating of this hotel, but to me, I think it deserves all 5 stars, for its top notch service, professionalism, facilities, amenities, and overall luxury feel.
Shopping Tip:
Exit the hotel, turn left, walk down the hill, and you'll be in the heart of Macau's older but more charming local shopping district. And if you really it, there's a McDonalds there.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel from 8/29/2010 - 8/31/2010. This was a nice hotel. It's very clean and staff were very helpful. It's a little bit far away from the tourist places. Anyway, they had a free shuttle. We took the free shuttle to the Macau Ferry. Then we transit to different casino shuttles.

Staying experience
Like the swimming pool and the newly decorated restaurant. Appreciate the help from staff. The room in premium floor is cosy and comfortable to stay

In general, it's an economical and comfortable place to stay since the accessibility to other scenic spots is good
