We got a free upgrade to premium room, which is totally awesome. The beds and pillow are super comfy. The toilet is well furnished.
The hotel is near the Guia Fortress and bus stops to around Macau. There is also a restaurant selling very nice food just 2 minutes walk from the hotel.

The Royal hotel offered good facilities and nice rooms for a reasonnable price. It is in walking distance of many of Macau historical attractions. For the casino, the hotel has a shuttle (but it does not go to Venitian on Taipa island). Altogether a good place to stay. The only regret is the swimming pool which is covered, very noisy and not very nice.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The cultural plaza is very near the hotel. Worth checing it for temporary exhibitions.

Stayed here for 1 night and was upgraded to Premier room. Bed are very good and easy to sleep in. Bathroom is clean and well stocked. We had a good breakfast here with good variety of western and asian food selection. The breakfast room view however was not very nice to the eye (facing old shabby apartments). Easy to get taxi from the hotel lobby. And staff is very helpful. Good value for money.

I was pleasantly surprised by the value for the money. The staff was refreshingly friendly and went out of their way to accommodate me. Located within walking distance of sights, but not in the traffic or bustle. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Remember there are two parts of Macau - mainland and Taipa (where the luxury resorts are). Make sure you know what atmosphere you prefer before booking.

Overall, everything is good about the hotel except the location. The hotel is situated in a hilly district. We took a cab to and fro the hotel.
