Good valuie hotel, decent location

I stayed for two nights in May 2010. My friends were all staying at the Venetian (SGD 370 per night!)but I opted for a more sensible option. Hotel is on the North Island, which we found better for evening entertainment. While my friends rooms were of course more ostentatious, considering the time you actually spend in the hotel room when on holiday, the extra money isnt really worth it.
Royal Hotel was clean and the rooms were great. I didn't explore the hotel facilities, but I gather they are a little limited. Ordered once from room service which arrived quickly and the food was fine.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for people with this sort of budget.

Comfort at Royal Hotel

The Hotel is very nice. Located in the centre of Macau Island, not far from Ferry Terminal. They upgrade my room to the Royal Floor and the room is already renovated, with minimalist furniture and LCD TV. The bathroom is also clean and complete ammenities. But when I tried the Casino, the hall is small and quite empty.

I am impress with this hotel. Although not new, this hotel still offers nice comfy stay with a generous room size and king bed. check in and check out were smooth and effiecient. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. you can walk from the hotel to the Ruin of St. Paul but will take around 20-30 mins. We took taxi back to the hotel after spending a couple of hours in Senado Square and costed us 35MOP. I will recommend this hotel to family and surely stay here again for my next trip.

Hotel staff named Alex was very helpful and friendly. He provides useful information on our daily tour and recommend local wet market for us to try nice and cheap local delight.

This hotel located about 20minutes from Macau Airport. It is just located next to auditorium stadium, walking distance (10mins) to 'sung shan'garden. Hotel staffs are polite and friendly. Hotel environment not compact or noisy compare with those big giant size hotel. Is a comfortable place for holidays. Convenient stalls, wet market and few restaurant nearby hotel.

This is a wonderful hotel, very clean and nice and the staffs are very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place to younger people as it only takes 10-15 minutes walk to Senado Square and major destination. The only set back is if you're traveling with an older person, you would need to take a taxi to go back to the hotel because it's uphill going back.

The deluxe room size is pretty standard with all other hotels that stayed before. Nothing much to feel great about on the room size although is deluxe twin room.
Overall the hotel cleaniness is satisying. Will surely come again to stay in this hotel and recommend this hotel to everyone.
Travel tip:
Nearby the hotel there is a famous crab porridge shop within a walking distance. Superb crab porridge. Recommended to everyone that staying in Macau.

Average, nothing to wow
clean room, good size for couple, nice bathroom with useable amenities, unlike some 4* hotels which provide cheap soap & shampoos. Bed is comfortable but pillow too soft. service staff are familiar with most tourists attraction therefore reliable info can be provided. Only the concerige staff are worth talking to....an english-speaking Filipino male staff was very friendly while helping us with some directions and a concerige staff from Hong Kong called Eric was very helpful, he is worth mentioning here - he offered to help everytime we see him at the lobby throughout our stay, he wears a pair of black glasses and look young. He helped us with luggages, give tips on places of interest and always greeting us. His service made our stay even more pleasant despite the unhappy check-in experience we had.

1) upon arriving, we were put into a scene for not bringing with us the same credit card that we had used to pay online for this hotel with Agoda, the Filipino lady staff at the front desk was so rude and made us looked stupid by saying loudly in a blaming tone that it is difficult for the hotel to allow us for check-in without following this rule, yes is our mistake BUT the room was paid for with my Hotel Voucher presented and I gave them 2 other credit cards to verify but she still nag her way while another chinese lady staff just stood around and look and do nothing. Other guests just looked upon us. This is so unprofessional, What an unpleasant start to our holiday.
2)We chose to pay the amount for better Deluxe room service for the breakfast and daily newspaper but they didnt provide any papers at all throughout our stay and breakfast was lousy plus we had to queue every morning for a table we decided to skip breakfast the 3rd day. I may not stay here again !
Travel tip:
its easy to catch a taxi at the hotel entrance to the ferry terminal or town area if you do not wish to wait for the free shuttle bus which only come at scheduled times.

If you are looking for good but not very expensive hotel, this may be a good choice.
Clean and luxurious but old fashion. No big glitz. Close to old city. Very good service. Very nice people. Sorry, they do not have Super toalets that replace paper with jet stream and wind blower.I woould stay there again.
