The area of the hotel is in the older part of the city and is in easy walking distance of the main sights. Situated on a hill the rooom views are great, whether it is day time, or night. The aspect is more westerly so the sunset colour, over the rooftops, is clearly visible and the wide window is plenty big enough to sit comfortably on to enjoy the spectacle. The lobby lounge is spacious and comfortable, has a afternoon tea buffet, and the breakfast buffet is served there too. The rooms are relative large, with an ergonomically provisioned bathroom. The room's curtains are great for ensuring the light doesn't disturb you.

There were a couple of staff whose English was weak and the Breakfast buffet could offer a bit more selection.

Over period of twenty years I have used the hotel a number of times, both before and after the renovation. Since the renovation the rooms and the general atmosphere has improved enormously. When I checked in the reception staff said that the room type I had booked was sold out so they had upgraded me, this included a complimentary afternoon tea buffet and a couple of other useful add ons. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom spotless. The bathroom toiletries were top notch. Overall and excellently located hotel for sights and reastaurants, and the staff were polite and helpful.

Restaurant Tip : Try the Grand Lisboa evening buffet.

clean rooms, helpful staff, good value for money

construction is currently going on

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and are very satisfied. The rooms, though small, are very clean and comfortable with all amenities available. At the moment of our stay, construction was going on at one side of the hotel and therefore our window was covered with plastic. Noise from the construction work was almost nonexistent. The hotel is located a bit out of the center which makes it a good escape from the busy casino area. Concierge is very helpful and speaks good English (opposite to reception staff). Would definitely stay there again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Use the free shuttle bus to ferry terminal. From there you can use the free casino buses to go to other parts of Macau and Taipa

Restaurant Tip : Near many restaurant and local food such as Macau-Chinese / Portugese / Thai / Seafood

Nice room interior decoration, good customer relationship, modern equipment with excellent quality

Situated on hill, hardly to walk-back especially for Senior citizen, waiting area on lobby floor not enough when group arrive, no place to sit around waiting

Nice interior decoration with good customer relationship plus excellent service to provide information for any kinds, bathroom equip with quality amenities, free-shuttle-bus available by hotel provide save cost to travel to other place such as; Wynn, Lisboa, Starworld etc. In-front of the hotel there are local garden to see how's local people lifestyle is, many local food near hotel with various choice such as Macau-Chinese / Portugese / Thai / Seafood

Restaurant Tip : Walk to Lenado Sqaure, around fountain if look toward the circle on the left-hand side have local shop sell local food (looks a bit normal not restaurant style), should try Meat with egg on rice for meat-lover or shrimp with egg on rich for no meat-eater, also egg-tart around Lenado Square is one place for good and delicious one to find

Beautifully done remodel

Location is not serviced by many bus lines

The Royal Hotel is really quite beautiful; the room was well-decorated and we were pleased with the amenities. The hotel like others in Macau have a free shuttle, which makes it easy to get around. We also stayed at the Riviera; choose this one folks. It is worth a bit more money.

Clean and neath room. Soft bed and pillow. Full of electric light making the whole room bright and cheer up. Polite attitude of all staffs i.e. front desk, bell boys

Less choice of food. Price of food is too high.

Whenever i have chance to come to Macau, i will choose to stay in Royal Hotel again. Even it is not so close to shopping area or interesting places, we just take a cap going around which is quite convenience. We like the small park in front of the hotel also. There also a free bus to pick you up to the big casino i.e. Venetian, Grand Lisboa. Emphasize again the room is just right for business or leisure purposes.

Restaurant Tip : There is a chinese restaurant just around the corner. When you step out from Hotel, turn left, walk down the hill, right at the left corner the shop is there. Nice chinses food morning till dinner, cheap price too.

Overall, i am very satisfied staying this hotel, very convenience shuttle bus services to & fro Ferry Terminal. Room is big and clean, room furniture looks modern and lighting is comfortable and bright. 13 minutes walking distance to ruins of st paul or Lisboa.

I queue and wait for my turn to check in in lobby for about 10 minutes which i feel the speed of checking in a bit slow. Another disturb me the most is the non sound proof connecting room. I was arranged to stay in connecting room, due to the non sound proof connecting door, i can simply hear next room guests talking, open their luggage bag, zip down shirt or trouser etc which resulted i dont feel relax staying in that room.

Overall, i will choose to stay in this hotel again ( will request no more connection room ) cos great location, along the way to ruins of st paul, there are lots of shops ( book stores, restuarants etc.) very clean and comfortable room, frequent shuttle bus services, indoor swimming pool.

No far from main area but walk very hilly.

Had difficulty with taxi drivers not understanding English request to go to the hotel. Get hotel address written in Chinese as soon as possible.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : All casino's run shuttle coache's from the ferry terminal.

It is quiet unlike most of the other hotels The staffs are attentive The concierge are helpful and polite The room is clean

the lady at the reception could do with a smile she look like a teacher talking down to the student The driver of the bus on route 2 is not helpful and friendly at all

We enjoy our stay at the hotel The room is clean and housekeeping is very good Breakfast is good The coffee and the juice need to topup a bit faster so that guests are not kept waiting too long

Good location, new and clean, nice decoration, friendly staff.

Hard beds.

At first I doubted the hotel since the location is at a narrow one-way street. However, when I entered the lobby, I was greeted by a friendly bellboy who kindly took my luggages and even called for the receptionist to serve me when someone cut my queue. Royal Hotel is located near the city center. Senado Square is just around the corner and it takes only about 10-15 minutes walk to reach Grand Lisboa hotel/casino. Opposite the hotel is a small park, and there is a 7 Eleven nearby just in case you need something urgently. The room is nicely decorated, everything is new and clean, and there is also complimentary internet in room. Staff are friendly. The only thing that disappointed me was that I was given a smoking room not as I requested. Nonetheless, Royal Hotel is good choice and I will return there again the next time I visit Macau.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Senado Square, Grand Lisboa, The Venetian and MGM.

Spacious & clean room with nice bathroom. Good breakfast and friendly hotel staff. Good location with quiet environment away from the busy buzz.

No casino only Mocha Club...a no no for those who looking for the night buzz of the casino and the shopping areas.

Great hotel, value for the money and located among the housing estates. We had good rest in our 3-night stay there. There are a number of good eating places near the hotel within walking distance. Good spread for breakfast, west and east, and we love the breads.

Travel tip : The hotel provides free shuttle service for drop offs at major casinos and ferry terminal. Can take bus from MOP3.20 onwards in front of the hotel - check out with the concierge for direction.

Near all major casinos, value for money

under renovation

The hotel is near all major casino, like Grand Lisboa. However, during my time of stay, part of the building is under renovation. The hotel is probably the cheapest 5 star rated hotel
