clean rooms, central location construction on-going for the facade We stayed overnight in Hotel Royal with my whole family and I can say that we had a great time. Most of the staff there were Filipinos and they were very accommodating in answering our queries and granting our requests. We booked a superior room but were upgraded to a premium one withnout any costs! The room assigned to us was in the 16th floor and it was simply amazing. The interior was classy and the overall feel of the room was comfortable. Its restroom was also clean and second to none. Free breakfast buffet was also OK. The free shuttle bus to some of the major locations is very helpful. This hotel is highly recommended, especially if you don't want the hustle and bustle of casino-goers.

slow check in (I clocked 35 minutes) Fantasic value. When we checked in they tried to put us into rooms whose views were blocked with plastic sheeting from renovation. We said no and they eventually found two more rooms- although one only with two single beds. We were upgraded to the premium floors, which meant snacks and complimentary beverages in the lobby each afternoon- a pleasant surprise. Staff were good- some with only limited English skills but always somebody on hand who could iron out any rough edges. Well furnished room- very clean, with cable internet (free) sat TV, tea and coffee facilities. Location a bit out of the way, which i think is a bonus for Macau.

need to improve the flexibility to the need of guest Royal Hotel is a nice place to stay in Macau. Aside from having a reasonable price, it is recommended for people who just need a place to stay and are on tour the whole day. The beds are soft, the staff of the hotel are friendly and hepful.They have delicious buffet breakfast. Hotel tours are also good and organized.I commend the filipinos who works in the hotel, they speak english very well, aside from being nice and friendly. My family and I had a nice time in this hotel, we will surely come back

Very tasteful decor, friendly and helpful staff, upgraded to Premium room, great Shanghai restaurant Bit far from main tourist spots, no restaurants in immediate vicinity, hotel undergoing external renovation The hotel was surprisingly good, the lobby was nicely done, none of the garish gold of some other Macau hotels. The casino is also tucked away and not in-your-face. Very quiet residential area, so nice for walks. Taxi's were easily available. Taxi getting there got lost first time, so pick up the hotel card from concierge when you go out.
Hotel has decent pool, excellent Shanghai restaurant - Catalpha. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Senado Square is a 15 min walk downhill. There didn't seem to be any restaurants in the vicinity, but we were not really looking.
The hotel is undergoing exterior renovations, so there is scaffolding, but we didn't hear any noise, so that part is probably over. When we complained about the scaffolding, we were upgraded to the Premier room. Rooms were nice, not huge, but very comfortable.
Breakfast was good, pancake & omelette station plus the usual cereals and asian fare. Nice Lobby Lounge with yummy looking pastries, didn't have time to try.
On the whole a great hotel. It's a hidden gem in Macau because there are no loud tour groups! Definitely will stay here next time in Macau.

Excellent location. Macau is small to begin with, but the hotel is close to all attractions (approx. 10 minutes slow walk to the main square) and yet away from the main casion strips. They had good shuttle service to one of the casinos and some other spots which pls remember to enquire from the front desk as it's unfortunately not advertised much. Excellent location. Facility of the hotel is quite old-fashioned Reception and check in were actually quite good. But the room facility was the first one to disappoint us, even though it was upgraded to premier floor, still feel it is quite small, apart from the king size bed. The breakfast, we went to the lobby when it is 30 minutes to finish line, but most of the food were already out of service. Hope they could make them up until deadline.

Great value, newly renovated, very clean room. Breakfast spread is good. Until mid Sep 09, the hotel is undergoing renovation on the facade. Else, no other weaknesses. Great value for a newly renovated hotel.

Breakfast is good. Room is clean. Restaurant staff is not quite nice. Not smile.. I had booked online and didn't aware that the hotel was under construction. No warning or any information regarding this. Outside of the whole building was rap by green plastic for safety purpose.. No view at all. Bad impressive !

The room is clean, modern, and comfortable.
The staff is friendly and helpfull During my stay, there is some renovation running on at the hotel so there will be some noise in the afternoon. I have a memorable stay in the hotel,
the room is clean, modern, and comfortable.
The staff is friendly and helpfull and we are able to get usefull information from the front desk to travel around in macau.
The buffet breakfaast is international standard and i am satisfy with it.
The location is not so strategic and quite, however they have a free shuttle bus to the casino and Jetty every half an hour and its very convenient.
Overall the hotel is modern and value for money. I will still prefer to stay there for my second trip in macau.

Bright . friendly and helpful staff. good value for the buck. view looking out of the window is no good - constructions & renovations. no counter to exchange currencies. my 2 nites stay at the Royal Hotel, Macau was a very pleasant experience - starting from arrival, the lobby is bright & well lit , to the warm reception by the front desk staff, to the elevators and hallways and the room itself, which was of comfortable dimensions, and clean. i'm not sure of the star rating, but it deserves a 4 (for the price). Good value . Overall location is a few blocks from center of things, but still close enough to get around. other personnel were also very friendly and helpful. all together an unexpected nice surprise/experience ! prob better than other hotels in the same price range.

not so far when you want to walk to center city.

Location ok, Room comfortable and clean This hotel is clean and comfortable to stay eventho renovation ongoing. The hotel is also quite accessible with walking distance to restaurant and 7-11.
We were glad to serve with complimentary food and drinks at the lobby during tea break hour. The staff were friendly and helpful, especial impress us that they have a good explainer person at the front desk. Glad that they offered us to upgrade our room without extra charges.
We enjoy our stay with the hotel and looking forward going back again in near future.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hotel is clean and quite with good location whereby the tourist attractions are nearby with walking distance for about 15-20min. Night time very quite and have nothing much to view around this hotel.

The room is clean and neat. Everything is in place. The breakfast is good, Waitress is polite and provide good service. Overall stay is pleasant, breakfast is good with a variety of choices, service at the lobby is excellent, very helpful people. Towels are changed daily, but not the bedsheets and bath robe. The hotel is environmental friendly in a way as it does not provide plastic bags for the dustbin in the hotel room. More "green" actions could be carried out, like shampoos does not have to be replaced when it's not running out.
Shopping Tip : Shopping spot is just a stone throw away, after dinner, you could just stroll down for 10 mins and start shopping. A great work out before you sleep!
