Colmar Tropicale Hotel, Bukit Tinggi

This is the 3rd times I visited Colmar since year 2001 because my kids like the atmosphere there. But to our great disapointment this trip, the overall maintenance of the hotel (includes rooms facilities, restaurant foods & garden outlook etc etc) is really POOR and it does not match the 4 stars (not even 3 stars) standard any more!

The room was spacious but the furniture and others looked snoppy. The bedroom air con was not working well. Technical staff was called; walked right through with his dirty boots through wooden floor. He called help and it took them about three hours 5pm to 8pm inside the bedroom to finally declare the air con was beyond repair and offered us another room. The replacement room was very nice (same size) and must have been recently touched up and it should be considered value for money and great mountain view although the bed was a little bit soft and made some noise when you turned. The next morning, the door could not be opened using the magnetic key. Hotel staff was called and we were told the battery was low and they could not do anything about it. It was about time to check-out and we moved to a friend's room. As to the botanical gardens, it was under repair or ? abondoned but we were not forewarned and included in the package. finally the ambient temperature is not cold enough to be enjoyable especially in the afternoon. It is very unlikely my wife and I will revisit or recommend the place to friends in near future.
